GTX Titan Black Edition or GTX780ti with water cooling ? ( GPU block n blackplate ) Both cost about £650-£700, And NVIDIA maxwell round the corner!
You'd have to be a bit mad not to wait for the 880 to be released - it's not that far away and you already have a 780! In fact, given how well the 780 overclocks and the not very impressive rumoured results of the 880, why are you looking to upgrade?! If you're itching to spend some cash, go SLI. Your PSU will handle it just fine.
are the prices that similar in the UK? over here the 780ti is around $650 and the titan black is $1000 ish
Nobody knows when maxwell will be released - "round the corner" is a bit presumptuous, especially when all you have to go on is internet rumour. I'd say if you want to upgrade, just do it. I did.
We all know NVidia won't do anything to upset their pricing structure, so this looks like sage advice to me. Just depends on whether you must have the latest and greatest - I must, so I don't blame anyone else lol
Yep a Gigabyte spokesperson said they are releasing the GTX 880 G1 Gamer in Sept, but it remains to be seen whether or not that will happen as the announcement was made before Nvidia themselves said anything. Another report says that Maxwell is expected around October/November. Time will tell.
waited is over. Maxwell (GTX980) is on sale now! http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-255-EA
