I've read a lot on the Ti500 and Ti200 chipset and hand have found on most makes the Ti200 being very overclockable indeed.

In some cases only being a few 3D marks behind the 500 version.

    My questions are:

    1. Is the version just as overclockable.
    2. Any voltage issues with the Abit KT7 board (I know the 500 has)
    3. Links to reviews,articles.
    4. Has anyone got one, and loves it?

Best value for money and all that.

My current card is a GF2 Ultra 64Mb, this will go in my LAN box.

Most of our customers report that they are able to clock the Ti200 to gain similar performance to the Ti500 but it's always nice to have extra capacity in case I think.

The Leadtek cards are the most popular by far too!

Except current sales are all going to Radeon 8500

The voltage issue with my motherboard is a major concern.

I'm especially worried because I'm looking at being able to overclock this version to give me the best bang for my bucks.

With Christmas coming up and new consoles on the horizon, it’s a fair compromise I think.

As for the ATI card, erm drivers and lack of support for the hardware from my associates have put me off this version of graphics card for the time being.

    Bugger

Well I'm hoping to buy one of these and on their site they say the Ti500 has voltage problems with my board.

No Mention of the the same problem on the Ti200 version. I may need to ferret around and see what I can dig up.

Spike can we both make sure we update our finding on this thread that we can both benefit.

    Cheers M8. ;)

A friend of mine uses a Leadtek Ti500 on his KT7A-R with no apparent problems, and he's using a TBird 1.4 @ 1.6, with only a 300W PSU. I am using a Hercules Ti200 o/c to Ti500, on a KT7A @ 142FSB, with a TBird 1.4 @ 1.633, with a 340W supply. I too do not have any stability issues. I think Leadtek are just covering themselves because of a few cases where the card might not have worked.

The problems with the voltage is due to to poor voltage regulation for the AGP slot on early model KT7s and KT7As. However it seems Abit changed the motherboard very slightly for all but the very early ones, so the problem isnt apparent. The problem was first highlighted with the GTS 64Mb cards from hercules, which Hercules would replace with one that sucked slightly less juice while Abit worked on a long term solution.

Or at least thats what I thought was the issue...

    :)

Thanks you guy's for the words of wisdom :D

I guess at the end of the day I will have to give the guy's a ring and see if the unit is refundable, if there are any problems.

If they are happy to except a return, then I will bite the bullet and make a purchase. All my findings will come out in the review. ;)

Never mind Kev, just be  I heard the Cube uses a Abit MB  Just messin dude. ;)

If everone liked the same things the world would be a dull place.

    It should be ok

    I have two Abit MB's

KT7 (3 months old) In the Dragon LAN Box

    Spec:

    256Mb RAM
    CD
    CDR
    APS2ooo
    GF2 Pro
    2 x 20 Gig Maxtor HD
    PCI 128 Creative SC
    Intel Nic
    OS WinXP Pro
    Chieftec 340w PSU

KT7a (9 Months old) In the Juno Main Rig

    512Mb KingMax RAM
    CD/DVD Pioneer
    GF2 Ultra
    Intel Nic
    2 x 30Gig HD IBM Raid
    APS2ooo
    SB Live Value
    Enermax 430Watt PSU
    OS Win2K Pro

    Both running 1Ghz @ 1266Mhz

Not bad spec's when you read it, now I know why I didn't have as much money for me holiday. I must have spent nearly 2k this year. Most of this hardware I bought this year, you need to spend, otherwise how can you run a hardware, overclocking site with old kit.

    Why have two rigs?

Easy I'm usally working on one which still leaves me one to do the day to day stuff for the site.

Anyway it should work if it doesn't well watch this space.

The Card arrived and full review to follow :D

At first glance it looks quality and weighs among the heavy cards I felt. Must be the HSF combo on the card.

    2 games included, sweet.

    Will kepp you guy's posted.

    Benchtesting

    Hi Guy's

While it seems I've been around since man and boy I've not have the time or the inclination to do a graphics card review. Our main focus has been on cooling products and Mods. I must have bought 4 cards in the last 2 years and have not shared my wisdom as to why and what the additional benefits were before and after I bought it.

    My question is.

I need to benchmark my new GF3 Ti200 card, which seems to be the industry standard for this type of hardware review.

I have most games and both 3DMark 2000/1 and was thinking of using say, Max Payne & Q3

But I've also got other games like.

    AVP2
    Return to Castle Wolfenstein
    Serious Sam
    Tribes 1/2

    To but a few :)

I need to know how to run these to produce some stats for the review. Any help or information will be credited in the article.

    I would use 3DMark 2001, DroneZ Mark and a bit of Q3 :)

A comparison between 2 or 3 different cards would be nice but it really isn’t necessary ;)
