It's worse than that for me. They've decided to correct an old mistake in that the M37 was actually successor to the M7 Priest. So no only is it getting the general nerf, but they are stuffing it down a tier. The Rof gets cut by more thank half and the accuracy goes out to 0.88.

I understand there was an issue with high-tier arty but unless they adjust the super-test figures they are going to make low tier arty completely unplayable. Seriously what can you do with
an arty with a 20 sec reload and 0.88 accuracy, 50 pen and just about 0 splash?

Certainly I won't play it any more and I suspect anyone grinding through the low tiers will just wander around in td mode hoping to hit something point blank.

well it seems as if they are just going to decimate the whole of the arty experience, add this much nerfing to an already massive amount of xp required...and youll get ALOT less people getting to the top teir stuff ( which is what they want )
will it fix the game ? no
is it what everyone wanted ? nope
but its a WG fix

BIA
A must imo...anything to get your reload time and aimtime down is a HUGE bonus
snapshot
as odd as it sounds drops the penalty for moving the gun 10% ( so minor corrections for aim don't make your aiming circle as large )
...
Originally I was going to go with camo across the board, but in the end I chose BIA for the whole crew. I'll look at Snapshot for the second skill maybe.

As I understand it, there is no benefit until they all hit %100 of BIA then the skills suddenly jump, correct?

Is the 8.6 nerf going to affect mostly arty or is it more across the board? Arty is my favorite role but if they mess with it too much it will make the game less fun for me.

EDIT: Well, you certainly hear a LOT of people wishing there was no artillery in the game at all, so perhaps WG is listening to them. We'll see how it goes.

EDIT AGAIN:

New post on the WoT front page. I'm truncating here, but the full post is at http://worldoftanks.com/news/2334-so...ing-86-update/

Quote:
Currently, in Version 8.5, we have a 1.3 sigma set as a limit. This means that approximately 19.4% of shots will land at the edge of the aiming circle. There were good reasons which this limit was chosen back in 2010, but the game has developed since then and we are ready to move on.

For the 8.6 Update, we have decided to change the distribution model used for accuracy calculations, by increasing the limit to 2-sigma. This means that now only 4.6% of shots will land at the edge of the aiming circle. That’s nearly 4 times less than under the old model!

How Will it Affect the Gameplay?

It means that the accuracy of all guns will greatly increase. Players will notice much fewer shells falling on the edge of aiming circle; in fact such shots will become incredibly rare. We are decreasing the influence of random factors in-game, which means a corresponding increase in the value of player skill.

These changes will apply to all tanks and tank destroyers in the game. We have decided not to apply these accuracy changes to SPGs as it could potentially damage gameplay too much. The change will be compensated for by a slight increase in shell dispersion. If you've already seen leaked information about the 0.8.6 Update SPG characteristics, please do not worry. It's not a nerf, just measures to avoid "over-buff." The overall accuracy of SPGs will be pretty much the same, just more predictable.

Currently TDs and SPGs receive penalties on the amount of experience points they receive per battle. TDs currently receive 33% less XP, while SPGs receive 50% less than regular tanks.

In the 8.6 Update, we will remove these penalties. This means that TDs and SPGs will receive much more XP per battle.

We will also add an assistance bonus for keeping enemies tracked. If you track an enemy and your allies then damage it or even destroy it, you will receive a bonus in credits and XP. The mechanics will be similar to the way the bonus for spotting currently works.
So, if I'm reading this right, it will be slightly harder to hit things as arty, but the rewards will be greater.

tbh with crew training what most people do for BIA is to train camo...something that gives bonus with every percent point...then when you get to 100%...then change it to BIA ( you need something like 120% if your using silver to convert the crew skill ) then start on camo again
its pointless training bia to begin with as there will be no benefit for doing so till you hit 100% ( a couple of hundred battles away ) your better off to have something that even helps a little...then switch at the end

Just read the 8.6 nerffing list, and apart from the SPG changes, I like what I see. The 105mm derp gun's needed nerffing badly. The M4 firing gold, or any of them really just ruins the MM and player's don't get any better at the game.

The only tank I've got a Howitzer fitted to for firing prem ammo is the AT-2 as it's a POS. Slow brick sh*thouse rolling along without a single decent gun. MM keeps putting me in Tier 7/8 games which makes the 6-pdr gun useless even on weak spots.

Thinking about it the accuracy changes and XP factor change mean a huge buff to TDs. Luckily I have 8 in the garage, six with 100% crews

I made a big push with the weekend special and got the M3 Lee crew to 100% Primary and the T1 Heavy to 100% 1st Skill. Large heap of cash now sitting in the account even after I purchased the discounted T29.

I need to press on with the TDs though as I am making a guess that the T25AT, T25/2 have a fair chance to be in the next special.

Sweet, more targets!

I got to the Grille so now I have two tier 4 artys to play with. I also managed to elite my KV-1 over the weekend, which will mostly make the crew training go faster.

I think when I get the 880,000 credits to buy the T-150 I'll sell the Alecto to make room for it rather than get rid of my KV-1 right away. After the SU-8 experience I'm in no hurry to sell a tank I like in order to get the next one which I might not like so well.

I'm in no hurry to play the T7 TDs, just if they come on discount I'll take them.

I have a rule now not to play a new tank until I think I'm playing well on it's predecssor. In the cas eof the T20 that will be the E-8 rather than the Jumbo so I will need to start playing that again soon.

The specials are rolling quite will for me. I've just unlocked the T20 and have the credits to buy it. I'm going to get a crew and train them in the RAM-II first though so it might be a while before I play it. Handily the only research on it is the tracks and turret. I have the Engine, Guns, Radio from other tanks.

But for fun and cash I'll take out the T82 on +80% income. And the x2 cew should ge tthe T1 Cunningham Commander to 100% 6th (for the second time, the first was moved to the Chaffee)

I'm struggling to enjoy the game atm, the only two tanks I have fun in are the KV-1S and at a push the Cromwell. I just keep getting donkey teams.

I can only assume due to GCSE, A-level and Graduates are now virtually free for the coming weeks, WoT is going to be painful.

I've been doing quite well.

Just sold my cromwell and gone back to Cruisier 4 to try and get the crew levelled up.

Having some great games in Hetzer, KV1, T34 and SU-85 and Churchill 1.

Just Elited Hetzer, KV1 and Churchill 1, got both crews on Churchill and KV1 up to 100% and second skills are at 60%, gonna stick with them till the second skills hit 100%, then switch up a tier. I really should have held off on buying the KV1s as it's a bit of a waste of a slot at the moment.

The KV-1S needs the big 122mm gun before it becomes useful.

I love the cromwell, when I first got it I kept making the mistake of playing as a light scout due to it's speed. Really it's a fast flanking medium and should sit back for most the game and wait for the point to unbalance a flank.

I've been tempted to run the T34 line, but I've got enough tanks to grind atm.

I've had some great battles recently. Had a great one in my Batchat last night where people just all played well as a team.

I've also finally gotten close to the JdPanther2 which I've been grinding since before there was a Pdpanther2 and I was working towards the Ferdi, maybe I'm just not a natural TD player.

Also with the Clan wars reset coming things are getting nicely shaken up.
