So Ncase and import fees. as I understand it it breaks down like this: Case: $185 (~£150) Shipping $40 (~£30) Import duty: 6% = $14 (~£11) VAT: 20% = $45 (~£36) Total: $284 (~£227) Would this be right?
Wait, so you are not in San Paulo? you are in the UK, yes? That looks about right, but do bear in mind that most couriers will charge you to charge you, if that makes sense. IE about £15 for a letter telling you that you have to pay duties on it and will probably not let you have the package until you have paid it. I refer to it as legal blackmail. IIRC Fedex and DHL are the worst, but they all do it (Parcel Farce, UPS etc).
I think it's a bit more like this: Case plus shipping - $185 + $40 = $225 = c. £180 Import duty - £30 (give or take) Total - c.£215 That's based on my reading of the experience of others who've bought an M1 directly from NCase. I'm sure there will be one or two on here who can chip in with their personal experiences.
I am in Sao Paulo generally but I visit the UK often, shipping to SP incurs about a 110% tax not including delivery (not a typo). I will be there again in June when I plan on picking up a new build (and claiming the tax back, really takes the sting out of it). Really £15 for a letter! moth*****kers! But it seems like I'm in the ball park. Thanks guys.
