Hello Readers, I'm building a new system for myself with the new Asus Maximus IV Gene-Z, the Obsidian Carnage. My name is Stef (eng: Steve) and I'm from Holland and living in a town called Enschede. It will be a Game-PC with a fat OC tuning! I didn't want a big tower so I looked arround for a mid tower. With this mATX motherboard, a Big Tower will lose the effect on a little motherboard. And there will be to much space. Space I don't want or need. So that why I bought the Corsair 650D. I wanted a nice Case with fine lines in it. No "tierelantijnen" so as we call it in dutch. I'm not gonna bother you anymore with lame text. See for yourself. New package! So, and here we begin, screwing the nice Mosfet off (sorry that u have to go m8) And cleaning everything with the Artic Cleaning Set. This is a beautifull piece of EK. The Acetal Mosfet Block. And the CPU getting the Acetal Top <what a work! $%(%# rubber> EK-CPU Easy mount, very nice! Tygon Black Tubes, keeping it black. And for just a little modification, I made the stickers for the RAM with aan ROG look. There they are. The first one done and the rest.. And this is how it looks on an Asus Maximus IV Gene-Z. I build it already, just to see how it looks and if the parts will fit, but I need the time for more inspiration to modify the 650D. Here are some pics. Tadaa! The whole Package. This was a gift from my Girlfriend! Love her <3 So this is my GTX560Ti from EVGA with the Backplate, also from EVGA. One of the first here in Europe. And beneath it the EK GTX560Ti Water Block! Ooh that's so nice! And so I dismounted the EVGA Reference Cooler from the videocard. Putting the thermal pads in to place. First I cleaned it with ArticClean the I put al dot of MX-2 on the chips. And here is the block with the MX-2 (Thanks Chocoprins for the pasta) The it's done. Screwed the thing tightly. And unscrewed it again to check if all the parts are good. The Second one is also done. Much faster then the first one! Got the skill baby hahaha Yeah, you can count me in for that to. Working with EK products is nice! But de delivery of the blocks.... It took forever, waiting for over a month, to get 2 GTX560 Water blocks and the EK Ram X4. Edit: "I couldn't resist to buy myself some red and black Carbon." 3D Red Carbon 3D Black Carbon Finally I had some spare time well spend today. The red and black carbon is on it's way. Nice! But I couldn't resist to get my Dremel and go to work on some plexi. This time I have put the project name into the plexi and here are the results. First I used some photoshop for the letter. Then I printed it on an A4 paper. I taped it on to the plexi. It was really hard to get straight lines, but with some positive Slipknot music on the speakers works fine. I kept my concentration and kept on working. So the letter are finished. Now I have to "color' them with a diamondhead from Dremel. After ik was finished with 'coloring' the plexi I cut it out with the Dremel. Unfortunatly I have no saw that could do my work in a straight line. *Note to self* Tadaa! The bottom needs some work and then it's finished. And here the picture with the plexi behind the window. This time it's Carbon time! Disassamble The naked 650D. CARBONIZING So i'm cutting up the carbon. There was much measure work to do. Luckly my sister had a cut-set-thingy. Thanks sis! And here is the first sticky job. The videocard at first. It was easier then I thought it would be. To overcome some of the 'obstacles' I needed the haidryer. So let's go put some on the SLI connector (since ROG has no black option for retail... to bad) And there it is, the two finished. Another picture. Now with the EVGA Backplate. After the videocard was mine D5 water pump next. But what was the formula again? Let's google that ^^ Here you can see that u can not miss an millimeter. The RAM is almost ready! And here sideways. Ofcourse I couldn't left the CPU behind... And because the BluRay Drive has an ugly gray color on it, I will carboniZ it to. And here the end result. So let's clear the back with an scapel. Hmm. lemme think. What can I do more with Carbon? Maybe the Res? So what follow's is the HDD Tray's. You really think that's to much carbon? You think? Really? Hahaha, wait till you see the end result. The second one was faster to do then the first one. And here the diffrence between the two. Finally the Red Carbon is next. I will put it on the mobo Tray. It looks like much red. But really it isn't. You'll see. The Red Carbon is installed! It was no hard job at all. Using my tip. Tip! Use water and a little bit of soap. Apply it on the case. Then put sticker on and then warm it up with a hairdryer. And here the last picture from the carbonizing! The assembly and result are next. Stay tuned. ** Cyg's Website **
This kind of use of dinoc carbon is the one I tolerate: precision decorating not over the top place- oh wait.... You make it look nice, very snazzy
Yeah, I didn't want it to go over the top with the dinoc carbon. Just the little details would do best. The red carbon looks much, but it isn't, you'll see it in the assembly of the PC. Thanks Baguette!
Assembly So the next day.. Time for the assembly! First installing the EKwb Clamps for the X250 Reservoir. Second was the REEVEN. Needed some time to sleeve it with MDPC-X. Installing the HDD Tray's Then the XSPC mounting for the 240 RAD from EKWB. I've also done the Fans with Carbon. Sleeving was no option because of the tiny room that I had to work with. Big Fan doesn't come on anymore. Here I installed 2x120 Fan from Zalman. They are Red and it fit perfectly. The D5 Pump was next. Love the BP Modkit. So and this is my calblemanagement. I'm no hero in this kind of stuff. And it doens't care me much. Want it to fit. That's all. Next is the motherboard. Love the ROG Gene-Z! Next up is the RAD120 and the RAD240 from EKWB. Installing the Reservoir The PC needs Power so it was time for the Corsair AX850. This one I kept is original. Because of the garantee. Tubing done. So another picture of the inside! and.... Nice placement of the rad... those fans look mighty slim though I'd like to see some temps if you don't mind once you're done :3
Just wondering if you'd get better temps flipping the PSU and running it so it blows out the hot air coming straight from the radiator?

No, I don't mind to post the stresstest results here Hope I can please you with the results. That is a great idea! Only I'm afraid that the PSU get to hot. The only thing I don't like is the anti-kink coils but that's just my personal preference. It's a really nice project I like the subtle changes and the rad placement
Yeah, I like the tubing naked also, but with these small corners.. It won't work without. So that's a comprimise. But maybe a sollution will come. Who knows. Thanks!

Room temp goes up for 2.1C and also the case temp with exactly 2.1C.
