Good idea, we need to remember though it's not always the best performance PSU's that should be recomended some are good but not in the highest teirs of performance and fit into budgets better. Perhaps this would be more relevant if it were split by power ratings and pricepoint.

Cooler Master - They have great PSUs pretty much across the board. The only thing that sucks is their eXtreme Power range. UCP/Silent Pro/Real Power Pro are excellent power supplies. Silverstone. The Decathlon series are excellent modular power supplies. I have a DA700 coming my way in a few days. DA650 DA700 DA1000 Add 'em And nice initiative

This list is to ensure that aslong as someone knows their power requirement they can look at the we can recommend at that power point and compare prices of the various reliable manufacturers

Too noisy at 1000W Enermax Revolution 85+ tbh. Silverstone failed for CustomPC recently. BFG aren't bad at all, but some of the internal layouts like the old ES 800W we reviewed last year weren't so great. Price in the UK is terrible though unfortunately. ModXStream Pro's do the job for us - we've loaded them fully for quite a white and internally they've been cool with solid rails. Seasonic are deliberately more expensive because it wants to be a premium brand itself and not affect its customers.
Really? I was never wealthy enough to afford a 1000w PSU.. Well I never needed it in the first place.
Silverstone PSUs are lame... so what do you think of Thermaltake Toughpower and shall I return OCZ ModXStream Pros? I'd heard good things about them anyway
I don't agree with the silverstone being lame; they make some pretty solid power supplies (hardocp and jonnyguru reviews show the performance as being very good for most models) I also don't agree with adding the modxstream again; at least not the 700w model. I'm not too sure Exactly what goes on with the bit-tech reviews, is there a page with the methodology, and the ripple testing?
The ModXStream Pro 500W works well enough - that's all I'll commit to. I wouldn't touch the Fatal1ty with a barge poll though. Some SS are fine - you cannot tar a whole brand with one quality brush. We don't have the facility to ripple test and to be honest, unless you're incredibly anal about what you use.. meh. It'll fail in any other area before it fails ripple, and the difference between good and "bad" (but acceptable) ripple means **** all in the real world. Im not taking away that there are clearly engineers out there that go into incredible depth of evaluation, but don't think every test for the sake of it doesn't mean that it can be a good product (but not exceptional) that works. We used to use Chroma machines at Enermax but now at FSP. They are hand loaded by ourselves to 20-50-75-100 percent load across all rails and kept at sustained load for 30 minutes to check if it survives and how the temperatures and noise are. It's not as super serious engineering depth as JG's testing or hot boxed because we don't have our kit. We do as much detail as we feel people want to read in time permitting and concentrate on the package and value s much as the power delivery. PSUs are not like they used to be - most just "work". It's exceptionally difficult to evaluate long term reliability as all the units shipped to journalists (especially important sites) are hand picked unless specifically bought from a shop. And even then, batches and production methods can change over the course of a PSU life.

Not the prettiest/most quiet, but the output is impressive. Also this kind of list would work better as a spreadsheet, and should atleast have some sort of info on the price...
