    Obviously most of you young'ns will not know who Vera Lynn is but here is a brief history of this singer that did so much during the second world war to lift the spirits of not just our soldiers but the nation itself.

    She will also have here image projected onto the White Cliffs of Dover which is also a title of one of her now famous war time songs.

    Was suggests past tense - people are normally only referred to in the past tense like that if they're dead

    I'm still getting my head around the WW2 generation approaching their 100s I just automatically associate that milestone with WW1 veterans.
