I recently slotted in another GTS 250 and prepare to fill in the third slot this week as well. Aside that CPU works are so hard to get, I noticed my Cpu's PPD dropped quite substancially:

I didn't set anything up apart from running my CPU client with -smp 4 flag, disabled SLI and Physx on GPU's with aproppriate flags as well. Am I missing something or is that normal. Any help would be appreciated.

Try to make sure the gpu's are using different cores to minimise the impact

Do you mean, like setting affinity in Task Manager? Say: one card to use CPU 0 and the other CPU 1?

I used to use priaffinity to auto set them as they have a habit of reverting back to random cores when they start a new WU

Thanks. I tried first manually in Task Manager. I will give it next hour or so to see if there's any difference.

Logically then, when I add the third card, my CPU's PPD will drop even further?

Pretty sure, yes. Of course this is off set by the gains from your graphics card.

    You are right.

The experiment with core locking gave a gain of about 100 PPD. Not much difference there. Thanks guys!

is that an A1 work unit your doing you can get 13k or more just from using the A3 work units (use an passkey and advmethods on) use HFM.net to monitor as well

I'll try after this one. If I can get a WU that is :)

    With HFM.net I have a bit of a problem.

    Code:
    Description:
      Stopped working

    Problem signature:
      Problem Event Name:	CLR20r3
      Problem Signature 01:	hfm.exe
      Problem Signature 02:	0.4.10.156
      Problem Signature 03:	4ba1712b
      Problem Signature 04:	Castle.MicroKernel
      Problem Signature 05:	1.0.3.0
      Problem Signature 06:	46f2e4dd
      Problem Signature 07:	1a
      Problem Signature 08:	e2
      Problem Signature 09:	WM0DLCLN0FFELNNYQUIWRCMEAUTRMMW2
      OS Version:	6.1.7600.2.0.0.768.3
      Locale ID:	2057

    Ignore the problem, sorted :)

you get 4-5x more PPD and more work done with the A3 work units (4ghz should be around 14-16k)

That would be very nice. I just configed the client to advmethods but still have 8 hours to go with the A1, so in the meantime I'll head off to sleep and let the pc do it's work.

    if i remember aren't 1920 pointers core A2's?

Would recommend changing over to the A3 anyway as they run better.
Just make sure to add the -advmethods to your config

Already done it. Configured it so I don't have to add a flag. Got a passkey and everything but sadly I see there's still shortage of A3's. Client is on 12th retry and nothing,
