Hi all, I'm looking to build a small but powerful system for around £450. I was looking at the following hardware: Silverstone Sugo SG05 Zotac Geforce 9300 Wi-fi Mini-ITX Intel Core 2 Quad Q8400 Crucial 2 x 2GB DDR2 RAM Samsung Spinpoint F1 320GB Hard Disk I'm just a bit worried out the PSU that comes with the silverstone mini-ITX case. It's output is 300W. Would this be enough to power all these components, especially the Q8400 ? Thanks
FSP are a decent brand so I think you should be OK there, I take it you are using the integrated graphics? I haven't seen much/anything about the Q8 line of processors, bit-tech generally seem to go for the older and cheaper q6600 or the q9 series, but I guess that your choice should use less power, which is good.
You might be ok there with that PSU, i say just trial run it, and if the system is a little unstable then get a corsair 450W
It should be fine, I'm running my whole system with 400w, perfectly stable. Minus a video card, and then some, 300w should be fine.
Really? I could have sworn the q6600 was on the supported CPU list. As I want one for the spare Q6600 I have sitting on my shelf.
Thanks for the replies. I noticed that the Q8400 is not on the CPU support list - so would I need to go with a Q8200 ?
