http://www.tweaktown.com/reviews/4869/nvidia_geforce_gtx_660_ti_2gb_reference_video_card_review/index.html No idea if it is real but here it is... Not the usual games for benchmarks
Scary, isn't it. And at around $250 !? Frankly, the estimated price is the hardest to believe part of that article.
Terrible article, they spend most of it going on about how they got this to break NDA and how terrible NVIDIA are for not giving them a 690. Then proceeded to run some poor benchmarks. I'll wait for actual reviews. However, looks promising.
They do this every time, they have long standing beef with Nvidia. That said, if the benchies are correct its as fast as a 7970 in 3DMark11
Looks _very_ promising. Although it seems TweakTown didn't (re)run the ATI cards with the new 12.7 driver, which apparently boosts performance quite a bit (they probably didn't rerun earlier nVidia cards either).
That's why I've refrained from buying expensive graphics cards for quite a while now. They devalue even faster than CPUs.
Considering how close the GTX670 is to the GTX680 and how much cheaper it is I don't believe this is the reason for delaying the GTX 660. Anyway, let's see the official price of the GTX 660 first. If it's really $250 then we'll be lucky here in DK getting a 1:10 conversion rate.
Nice find, I was discussing this the other day with a friend. I can see why AMD have been dropping their prices now. I wonder how much it'll cost over here
Depends on the game and the settings, but for most cases, it'll be the best choice for 1920x1080 and below, with the 670 being better for 1920x1200-2560x1440, and the 680 stuck with multi-monitor gaming, 3D, and 2560x1600 imo If Tweaktown wants a better relationship with nVidia they'd have waited for the NDA to drop, they just did this for pageviews
I'm pleased to see they've kept the 2Gb of RAM for the 660, and it looks promising. Any idea when Bit-tech's review will be up? I didn't think the NDA lifted until mid august but, if those tools are going to breach by two weeks, maybe this will bring it forward?
