Looky looky. I almost wet myself with excitement upon reading this. One of my all time favourites and I cannot wait!
Oooh, this is exciting, haven't played the original in a while, but was a brilliant game. Will be interesting to see what new things it will bring to the table
It's still my most played game. "Jesus Christ Conrad, tie your fuc*in laces!" There doesn't appear to be much in the way of information, It's going to be based on the Eastern Front WWII, apparently with you as the Russian (although presumably there will be a decent amount of DLC for the Germans etc).
You almost wet yourself? I think I actually did. It is exactly what I've been wanting, and saying on forums, for them to release. Eastern Front, with weather mechanics. Oh god I am so happy.
YES! This is what i have been waiting to hear from Relic. After putting in almost 900 hours in the first one, i can pledge my money day one for coh2. Here's the magazine scans: CLICK HERE NOW
Had to be the Soviets really, pretty much all the other sides have been done to death. Looks promising.
I've yet to give Company of Heroes a whack, although I remember reading a review of it in PC Gamer and wanted to get it. There appears to be three versions on Steam; the original, opposing fronts and tales of valor. Any idea on which one I should get? Opposing fronts was released 2 months after the original and tales of valor was released in 2009. Not a clue...
They are all worth a play through, I'd go retail unless you want to wait for it to be on offer on Steam. The Anthology is just under £9 retail vs £26 on Steam. I personally found OF the best and Tales of Valour is the worst of the three, but that doesn't mean it is a bad game.
Opposing Fronts is a standalone expansion to CoH. Not played CoH yet either, but if it's anything to go by - they're from the same developers as DoW2, I wouldn't have jumped straight into DoW2 Retribution (also a standalone) without playing the first two DoW2 games first.
Oh yes, a modern Eastern front-based WWII RTS - cannot wait! Enjoyed the first CoH, so hopefully more of the same, with some of the DoW2 improvements implemented (directional cover and so on).
I was considering buying opposing fronts for £9.99 from steam but will take your advice and get the anthology from Game(station) for £9.99
dont get retail, get the steam edition unless you want to go ****ing stir crazy patching it to the latest version.
Agree with totally - patching up the DVD will drive you insane! I bought the Steam version even though I already had the DVD version as I couldn't face the patching process again when I built my new rig!!
