Because of the specialist nature of the Donation forums, we have these extra rules which you must adhere to.

You are able to see the Donation forum when you get to 75 posts and have been registered for 30 days (this is so that donations go to contributing members of the community, not freeloaders who just registered to get free stuff).

    Illegality

    1. No warez. Gory disgusting death awaits those who try to "donate" pirated software. We'll delete your post (and ban you), whichever is easier at the time. In the same vein, under no circumstances do we allow our forums to be used for the "donation" of stolen goods and anyone found doing so will be reported to the relevant authorities.

    2. No Microsoft OEM software. According to the OEM software licence you are not allowed to pass on OEM software - it is "For distribution with a new PC only".

    3. No Steam Accounts. According to their EULA, you are not allowed to re-sell, charge for the use of, or transfer your steam account. (See http://www.steampowered.com/index.p...riber_agreement )

    4. Microsoft Retail software is ok. However, you must include the Certificate of Authenticity/Licence.

    Donation

    5. Everything in this thread can be yours for the price of posting/shipping only. You cannot post items you wish to sell on here; only items that you are willing to give away if the recipient pays for postage and shipping. You cannot swap items either: remember, donations are unconditional.

    6. Please post whatever items you have lying around that you just want to get rid of. Enjoy that warm glow knowing that you may just help some poor, struggling modder on a tight budget. Remember, what is junk to you may be a useful piece of kit to someone else!

    7. Feel free to post for any items you are looking for. However keep in mind that you are unlikely to find something that has a substantial market value, such as a high end video card or CPU.

    8. If you take an item from anyone on this thread please try to make some sort of donation in return (not required, but it's good Karma). Think of any little odds or ends lying around that you have no use for and would otherwise throw out. As stated above: one man's trash is another man's treasure.

    Courtesy

    9. It is appreciated if your posts have :

    FD: For Donation
    WTD: Wanted

in the title. This does make it a bit easier for everyone.

    10. Please also include some contact details (email address/IM handle) if they're not in your public profile.

    11. Do not edit a moderators comments.

    12. No random commenting, or posting unless you are donating or collecting, or interested in donating or collecting.

This includes commenting on donated items - if you think something is useless junk, simply ignore it.

    13. Discussion of what hardware is good and what isn't belongs in the Hardware section of the forum.

    14. One bump per thread is allowed. Bump more than once and your thread will be closed.

    15. These boards are a nice place to be. Be friendly and helpful at all times. Remember that the collector pays for posting/shipping if not for the goods themselves, so there is some financial investment on their part.

If you think that hand-outs destroy people's incentive to get off their lazy ass and find a job, keep that opinion to yourself (and don't ever ask for anything on this forum). This is a charity forum, meant to support modders less fortunate than you. What you do for the least of mine, remember (Matthew 25: 35-45; look it up)?

    Practicalities

    16. Agree beforehand on in what time frame and in what way (post or courier, recorded, insured; method of packaging) the goods are sent to collector. Don't promise stuff you won't deliver, especially if the collector pays for posting/shipping. That's cruel and every time you do that, a kitten dies.

    17. Agree beforehand on when posting/shipping payment takes place, and by what method: Paypal, cheque, banker's draft. Do not send cash by post. If it does not arrive, you only have yourself to blame.

    Feedback

    18. Help keep these boards free from scammers. Nobody gives away free iPods, and nobody will pay substantial money for old stuff --if they offer to, it is a scam! When you have successfully completed a transaction, post a short feedback at the end of the transaction thread.

Collector: post a short message on whether goods were received in the condition described, and on the date promised.

Donator: post a short message on whether the collector paid for postage/shipping promptly.

This is absolutely vital to keeping the Donation forum a safe place to donate and collect.
