I hope it's got a better top speed than the original rover, 8mph might make doing a lap a little tedious!

Pshhh, Your mother is a waste of time.

Just because they are throwing us space nerds a bone dosn't make it a waste of time.

For example, before I heard this I wasn't too interested in buying GT6. However... I am actually tempted to buy the game now...

"realistic driving simulator series Gran Turismo" - "moon racing track"
    What?
That part of my reality seems to be missing.

I'm off up there after Chrimbo, do a bit of sight-seeing while I'm there, perhaps get a bit of rock to bring back.

    :D :D

You space buffs should keep to your own games and leave our driving sims alone.

Isn't Kerbal enough for you people?

Is there some law against being both a space buff and a motor head?

The moon is a terrible place for a racetrack; I want a racetrack on jupiter; imagine 20g cornering cpabilities!

Space-buffs are de-facto the biggest motorheads around. An F1 car produces around 720-740hp. An F-1 engine's turbopump gas-generator alone produces 55,000hp.

I'm sure I've read that it's just basically GT5+, rather than GT6, with GT7 being the PS4 title.

as much as i enjoy the GT series i wish they'd do something with the AI, i want the thrill of calculating my race strategy on the fly, i want the thrill of a well planed overtake, i want to race.

    too much to ask?

I can fully understand how hard it is to get realistic AI in a racing game, but yes, you'd have thought they'd be able to do better than:

Follow racing line, regardless if there's anything already there.

After coming back to Shift 2, I've noticed that the AI in that actually seems pretty clever, and can make some awesome passes. You can see them moving about in relation to your position, although I do still sometimes find myself getting frustrated, but that might just be my driving style, :D

I had to look it up, but lunar escape velocity is 11.2 kM/S, so you won't be able to reach orbit by taking a corner too fast.

Which is unfortunate because that would have been cool as hell!

They rebuilt the entire engine from the ground up... only games like COD reuse an engine with a few minor upgrades. GT6 is using lets just say GT Engine 6, COD Modern Warfare 2 was using COD engine 4.3.

Think you misread it. Earth's EV is 11.2 km/s; the moon's is about 2.4 km/s. But yeah, still not going to take a bump too fast and never come back down!

    DOH! My bad!

Maybe someone will make a mod with a track on a celestial body where that could be a problem. That said, Lunar motocross would be fun!

If they rebuild everything from the ground up every game it explains why this is more like a GT5+.

Also, am I the only one who finds the physics in GT5 to be a bit lacking when compared to forza; it might just be the amount of tactile feedback but GT does seem a lot more arcade-y.

@Ending Credits - I have never had an issue with the vehicle handling in GT. The steer properly. I have owned go-karts, I have owned mustangs, I have driven many other vehicles. Forza has issues with braking and turn physics. You cannot roll around corners as fast as you do in Forza.
