Apple Macbook pro external display only - can't close lid

    Hi.

    Can't close the lid on my MBP and make it turn of the internal display (magnet sensor thing is broke) - but want to use external display only when it's at a desk.

    Apart from a terminal command - is there any other way I can do this? Terminal command will be a pain if I forget to reverse it before I unplug!

    can't you just close it and let both displays do their own thing? without the magnetic sensor, I don't think there's any way to get the internal display to turn off.
