if you are talkin about a ViVid XS 64mb it is a Kyro 2 based card! it is ok but i would buy a GF2 MX based card instead!

You think? The Kyro 2 is supposed to be a pretty decent chip isn't it. Besides, you can also pick up a Geforce2 GTS for around the same price now.

The Kyro 2 is supposed to be good, but i have a frieand who has one and it does seem rather disappointing. The Kyro 2 does need a powerful cpu for it to perform well at all when compared to the GTS cards.

Gah no....an MX was decent a year ago but now they offer pretty poor bang for buck. You can buy a GTS, which kills the MX at all resolutions for £89, where as most good-brand MXs come in at about £65. The extra money for the GTS is well worth it.

And now you can buy a Gf 2 Ti for £111, which is basically a Gf2 Pro but it will go as high as a Gf2 Ultra. Personally that is what I would go for.

But if you can stretch to £169 you can however get a Gf3 Ti200 (Creative) from ebuyer.com or Dabs (Reference board). Or if you can stretch to £230, pre-order a Radeon 8500 and hope ATi get their drivers sorted!

    hope this helps

yah since i posted that the GF2Ti, the GF3 Ti200 and the GF3 Ti500 have become availible and there is now a much wider scope for budget graphics cards

i got a kyro2 and i love it. best thing i did was stick heatsinks to it and crank it up to 190 tho. massive performance increase.
