Ok guys this is the first time im posting a work log here. Ive had quite a lot of inspiration from the guys on this forum and other forums as well. I've been doing this for a few months now and it's finally time to share it with you guys! I was thinking is it too late to start project log here when it's almoust ready?? I hope it's not :worried:

    What's the plan?

This work has been baptized as: AquAtom.
I had my eyes on the corsair for a very long time and i was just looking for an excuse to buy this case. so i bought the corsair obsidian 900D and first impressions were WOW...theyve really thought out about how to make this case especially for primarily people who are on water cooler's. Im not a fan of cutting up cases to fit in the bits and pieces that you need mainly but in this, all components fits nicely. :thumb:

In this case i use black and orange acrylic plates to cover any holes and corners. I think i'm a bit of acrylic fan so all the watercooling pipes is acrylic also. I've seen lots of watercooling piping managements and styles, so i wanted to do somenthing new. Some of case parts i made pattern, which are cut for water jet cutter. I wanted something signature and a unique style. And yeah, i have never seen a orange 900D, so im planning on build with orange/black paint! All the necessary wires will be sleeved with black and dark red sleeve.

There you have a brief plan for this project. It may not sound like much...but I still have a lot to do :dremel:

    Main components for this build

    Case: Corsair 900D
Motherboard: Asus Rampage IV Black Edition
    CPU: Intel i7 4930K
GPU: MSI GTX 780Ti Gaming - Sli
RAM: 16 GB Gskill RipJaws z
    PSU: Seasonic 1000W Platinum

    Watercooling

    CPU: EK-Supremacy
    GPU: EK-FC780 GTX Ti
    Pump: EK-D5 Vario X-TOP
    Reservoir: EK-RES X3 250
    Radiator: EK-CoolStream PE 360 & 480

Hope you like this project! I'm excited :clap::clap:

As I already mentioned earlier, the project has been running for a few months. I update this early stage of pictures to this day. There are many images and I have weeded out some of them to make reading easier ;)

You can find my blog and all the images from a Finnish forum HERE

So lets begin, this is where it all starts.

Cable sleeving is all done by myself, it took weeks to finish! Over 50 meters of sleeve and my fingers was itching. Not my favorite job :D

however, I am satisfied with the result :thumb:

Then it was time for Acrylic cutting. Back of the motherboard will be black and orange for the bottom.
I made a sample with orange acrylic before I cut the final plate.

Motherboard back plate in place and wires pulled through the acrylic.
Radiators also found their place. For fans i use Corsair 120mm Quiet editions.

Then it was time for acrylic tubing to the motherboard, GPU and upper rad.

Heres mine home made bending machines :D works like a charm!

Before the final cooling pipes, I made holes for the GPU wires on a bottom plate.
Cables from the front panel to motherboard i use cable duct to hide them and drill the necessary holes.

The current state is that the watercooling is complete and everything seems to work fine.

I regret that I did not have the time to make project log here. Now, however, I am a summer vacation and I use as much of my time to finish this project and trying to be more active to this blog!

there is still much to be done so I hope you like this project! :thumb:

That looks great! The cables are almost begging for some E22 cable combs:D

Thank you sir! bends took the most time but it was worth it :D

Thanks! I was almost ordering those E22 cable comps, but i live in Finland, so products costs a few bugs and shipping / tariff costs like 10 times more :sigh:

    Let's update the project

Courier spun at the door and brought the missing parts. The package arrived with the rest of the lights, Vandal switch button and more reference cooler fluid.
For some reason, i had bad luck with some of the products...this time the led strip has some kind of contact issue (twisting the strip it flashes and some leds won't burn), have to wait more to get a new one :(

So today I have sewn the cables in order to better position and a better-looking.

I also thought of something to do with that SLI bridge. Originally thought evga's sli bridge but a silver bridge with black theme does not fit the eye..so I made my own "simple" version :dremel:

Well that isn't a really big deal.

you can order the same parts from lutro in the US
Shipping to Germany was 9$ for my packet and it was quiet huge. I think this is pretty much afordable

The scalp scraped out and Vandal switch short electrical lesson on cable connections (which in the end should be "simple")
caused a severe headache for some reason, but now finally seems to be working as it should.

The switch is designed to control the lights on and off. The switch will be in place on the front, center of the pattern.

This image is a test phase. I solder wires later on :D

Not of the most beautiful sleeving but it is gonna be hidden

One of the lights is NZXT Sleeved orange LED-strip and I realized later that this requires a 5v. I tried 12v, but heated up so rapidly that it does not last long.
This does not come to mind and because the switch only manage a 12v, i had come up with some kind of converter between switch and led..

I got help from the local electronics store, and then gave me a diode that converts 12v to 5v volts. Problem solved :thumb:

So I made a molex "adapter" between the switch and the light.

    Thanks for watching guys!!

Diode will also generate Heat and may fail after some time better use 5V from molex connector instead of 12V.
