    Hi there guys.

I have got a decent ammount of cash for my birthday and am looking to finally get a WC loop.

The main thing i need is a case with ability to take a 240mm rad without me doing anything to it, And i would prefer if the rad was internal in teh case, As i have never really been keen on external ones.

The case i Have seen is the NZXT phantom from what I have seen its got the ability to take the 240mm rad internally without any modifications. Are there any other large cases out there that fit the bill? I have 4 HDDS to fit in 3 of which are 3.5 and the other is my SSD.

The kit running inside that will be cooled is

    i7 2600k
    6870HD

I am only cooling them originally wasnt going to do the GPU but i noticed that it puts out alot of heat so I think cooling it might be wise.

For the CPU block i was thinking of using the EK-Supreme LTX
For the GPU block i was thinking of using the EK-FC6870

For pumps and rads etc I am have no idea of what i should look at, im guessing as its decent loop a good pump will be needed.

What advice can you give me on parts and such? If anyone has any parts for sale that will fit me let me know as well.

    Pete

The best advice I can give you is to research the hell out of the topic, checking for reviews of each part you find along the way, same as with any other part choices.

I don't have any personal experience of watercooling, but the impression I get is that all systems are pretty unique depending on design choices, budgets and needs.

Well i have found out that the Case is able to fit a 240mm rad in fine without modding.

The main questions is what fans are best and such.

I've recently acquired some Sharkoon Silent Eagle 2000s and I can recommend both the 80mm and 120mm versions, if they'll fit. Just have a flick through the selection on ebuyer and read the specs and reviews.

    • Anti-kink coils, not needed unless you plan on some tight bends
    • You don't need the extra screws
    • That 240mm rad won't be enough to cool it efficiently. Get either a ticker one, or a 120mm rad as well
    • Coolant? I'd say get a kill coil and go to Halfords and buy some Distilled water.

Amusingly not, it was at home in the middle of Bristol. The place where I live is simular to halls and the network management software had a helpful bug one year :p

The coils are for aesthetics as I want something to be visible in the case but i don't want to use UV coolant and such.

I cant fit a thicker 240mm rad in the case im looking at without modding or having it as an external rad which i dont want. As im looking into the NZXT Phantom case. Can anyone suggest a diff case that wont need modding that will fit a thick rad in for the same money?

As for coolant. I will just go halfords in that case. And whats a kill coil?

Kill coil is a little coil of 99.9999999999999999% (roughly) silver that kills bacteria and stops corrosion essentially. It's what I'm using atm and have never had any issue, bloody cheap as well!

You could get a 120mm radiator to pop on the rear exhaust fan if you like the Phantom that much?

Yea your right i think i might just pop a 120 on the back or summit for that bit more chilling.

Where do you get kill child from as i can't see them on aqua tuning.

Cheers for the info boys, now to work out a loop order and see if i can get any parts from the market place

will look at the special tech site. As for case:

I think i might be getting one form the market place with a res, 240mm and a 120mm rad in it already which will be perfect :)

And already got a Liang DDC pump with plexi top for £55 :)

Will have to build a log when i build it to show you all :)
