    Project Unkown

Hey guys cause of the lack of my fantasy the project will just be called Project Unkown. I really don't know right now where my project is going. So I will just stay with the name like that:D
It will be my first time modding so please be patient with me ;)

    Shortinfo about me:
I am from Germany an 22 years old. I did an apprenticeship in agriculture. Therefore I am pretty comfortable with a lot of crafting machines which I will use though out this built.
In this built I will do a lot of stuff for my first time. like OCen, LC and I even never did a benchmark, but now is the time to get startet :)

    HARDWARE

CPU: i7 4770k which is hand picked and delidded
    MB: Gigabyte Z87x-OC
RAM: 16 gb Gskill Trident 2400MHz
    VGA: unkown
    PSU: unkown
    HDD:4x Seagate Desktop HDD 2TB
SSD: Samsung SSD 840 Evo 128GB and OCZ Vertex 3 MAX IOPS 240GB
    CASE: Corsair 900D

I've got the EVGA Supernova 750G, which will be seen on some pics, but this PSU is just too loud and will be replaced.

There will be LC so here is a follow up of my parts:

    LIQUID COOLING

    Radiator: 2x Hardware Labs Black ICE Radiator SR1 480 - black:naughty:
    FAN: 19x Noiseblocker BlackSilent Pro Fan PL2 - 120mm
CPU: Alphacool NexXxoS XP³ Light - Acetal - Intel/AMD
    VGA: unkown
    Reservoir: Bitspower AGB 250mm
Pump: Aquacomputer D5 USB with EK Water Blocks EK-D5 X-TOP CSQ - Acetal
Fittings: EK Water Blocks EK-HD 12/10mm black and everything which is needed like 90°/45° etc.
    Tubing: Acrylictubing

    Sponsership:

Unfortenatly I am not used to Sketch Up so I won't have any Renders. I will use what I Know a good old pencil and sometimes paint :D

Last week was a big day cause my 900D arrived :jawdrop:

My board the Gigabyte z87x-oc arrived in the previous week but the detail shots of it won't be in my start post :)

But here a small test fit

I really like all the stuff which comes with it and the I/O is awesome, but the Corsair Casefans are :sigh:. Every sticker will be removed and replaced with my own sticker.

    The Case is just huge
    [IMG]

I am really sorry for this blurry pic. I am just not used to make Hardware pics. There fore my pic quality will go up and down.
I will try to shoot alle my pics with the DSLR from my parents. But my access to the DSRL is just on the weekends. That really sucks. But enough crying now the modding really starts.

I am planning to make my own midplate to sepperate the top from the buttom
    [IMG]
For eveyone who doesn't understand German. I will use 0,5mm thin iron to build it.

Then I had a idea to hide the ugly Fan on the back of the 900D
I will change the Corsair case fan with a Noiseblocker Pl 140mm Fan
First draw the exact Size of the Fan on a piece of paper
    [IMG]

Then i placed the fan on it and tried to reproduce the frame of the inner part of the fan.
With the held of a razor
    [IMG]

I got the first part ready for cutting:dremel::

The next post will be just a Hardware post with the best detail shot I could come up with :hip:

    Update 2

I said that the next one will be my Detail shots but I will change that two another update.

Now I want to show you a couple :dremel: pics and How it turned out

    first the drawing:
than by hand and with a mill i got this tooth look like shape :hehe:
With a lot of rasping I got this:
almost straight little bit tot go
    [IMG]
    now I am happy
    [IMG]
Unforenatly I don't have any pictures from the :dremel: part but the finished product looks just awesome for my first try

Here the fan with my cover on the back. Can you see it?
Now you can see it, or?
    The side:
    The back:
    Looks pretty good i think
    [IMG]

This was my first Version. I will try in the next week to try it again. This time with more care for the measuremeents. If you look pretty close you see I cheated a lot of times
    [IMG]
and Iam not too happy with the buttom. It#s a little too narrow so it got a bent :(
    [IMG]

Last but not least I got a new ride for work. Actually it's not for me. It's for a driver but it's still pretty damn big

    Update Nr. 3

Hi guys, hope you like what I did with the NB Fan cause nobody is responding to my start :(

Here is the new Hardware which will be built in the 900D

I am really sorry that the pictures of the Gigabyteboard are so horrible. I could just make them with my phone and I still suck at using it correctly.
In a couple day I hope I can give you a couple of Macro shots of the board. I can't do it right now due of the breaking off of one of the Pins in the USB 3.0 Header :wallbash:. I send the board in to get it fixed :)

But enough writing here is what you all are waiting for:

A huge package from caseking Germany:

    Everything piled up:
( I don't know why but on my home screen the pic is sharp but after the upload not:eyebrow:)

    unboxed all the fans :)

    One full box of Accessoires:

    The beauty:

A quick test mount of 4 Fans with M3 screws. The Rad has M4 houles. I will replace all the encloses M3 screws through M4 Button Head Socket Cap Screws - Black Oxide
    http://lutro0-customs.com/products/m4-button-head-socket-cap-screws-black-oxide
I am waiting for Mikes reply that h ehas enough instock again. Ge got a stack last Friday but is sold out allready :(
    [IMG]

Now I get to the Mainpart of the built the Mainboard and its cooling:

and the core of my project the selected i7
    [IMG]

Hope you liked it till here.

I am working right now to get the first Version of my Midplate done :)

Sorry - maybe it could be a cultural/local thing.

I thought it may be a typo - 'unkown' -> 'unknown'.

Anyway, good luck with the project how ever it is spelt. :)

so my finals are over and I have finally time for my built again :)
I can be called Farmer now in germany :D

I ordered some parts from Ricardo (coldzero/portugal). They arrived ten days ago, but I didn't had time to mod them and even to fix them.
But Now it is done :dremel:

Here is it how it looks :)
I ordered a Mb tray cover with holes for my sweet BP
    [IMG]
    It just looks need.

Than i fixed the 5 1/2" Bay Cover
    [IMG]

and now it looks like that:

after that i placed the new midplate in the 900D. I will mod it that i can fit my pump on it. Unfortenatly I can get just get my hands on CNC with money cause of the lack of Companies who have CNC machines in my area. Everything I want to have cut needs to be shipped :(

    But to go on :)

Than I bought from Ricardo a Backcover for my 900D

it has a really nice finish :)

A problem is that you can see all the scratchs of the screws but you can just whipe than away.

the view through the back of the I/o
    [IMG]

    and finally the fullview

That wasn't the biggest modding update but the next one will be. there I will be extending the midplate and with luck I will get a package from the US (lutro) with srews for the rads and fans :)

Now that my board is finally back from RMA ( Do you call it the same, probably not )

I can get really startet with putting all the nice cooling in and figuering out where I have to do a smal custom job to fit it my needs.

    Let's get started:

The buttom 480rad finds his home again. I still have no clue which way arround a want him, but i tried it this was so that I have a lot of room on the backpart of the Case

I really love ho wthe I/O fits in . Gigabyte did just an awesome job with it.

Now the board wants to get his show
    [IMG]

I allready put the waterblocks on it
    [IMG]

I just how the piano look of the Niosblocker pl2 turns out
    [IMG]

The beauty find it's together and it just looks clean as my bathroom should look :ugly:

    :jawdrop:

Now the top rad also a 480 Hardwarelabs has to be mounted
    [IMG]

I really like the black mdpcx sleeving on the fans
    [IMG]

Now the side looks like that

the backside starts to get crowdy
    [IMG]

    buttom rad again
    [IMG]
lots of cables are meeting here cause here I will mount the pump and an Aquaero 5 LT

    damn clean reservoir
    [IMG]

    Frontview

I am figuring right now out where I will go through with the acrylic cause slowly I get place trouble.

problaby will go through the Midplate right to the reservoir and than further to the CPU

    My Cooling loop will be

    bottom Rad->pump->Aquero->reservoir->Cpu->NB/SB->top rad->Gpus-Y-> bottom rad

    What do you think?

Sorry for the delay guys, but i really had a tuff time. Had to get all my applications ready for university. Some of them really wanted a correct Cv. :duh:
Now it is done and I will get in the next week my confirmations if I am aknowledged or not :)

That I have a Quick Update.

Mick from Mayhems GB was really generous and is now sponsering My Built with the Coolant
I talked with him about the right colour choice for it and he considered that the best would be
Pastel Orange which is really similiar to the orange of Gigabyte and my used sleeving :)
I am a really fan of chrome look so I really couldn't deside if I shall take Pastel or Orilla Orange

Sorry guys for the lack of updates.

I was in my finals. They are over now and I earned my first Bachelor
After that I had to move to a new town. That took a shitload of work and unfortunatly my Rig had to sleep a while in his Box.

But now it is over. Next weekend I will start with prepping the loop and folding the hard tubing.

    So stay tuned

    see ya

    Hey Mates,
Finally my project can go on,
Last week I ordered a new Power Supply cause I wasn't really happy with the EVGA NOVA 750G (1). It is a great Power supply but for my ultra silent project just to noisy.

Here a couple pics of the new Supply an Antec HCP 850

It really has a lot of neat features which I probably won't use :D. But you never know.

Lets make a small inventory what I really got here:
    I nice box with good protection inside:thumb: (i expect that for a 200€ supply:blush:)

Take the over off and you see two bags out of cutton I guess, but I am not really sure. They unfortenatly look a little bit cheap, but they do there job. To cover up what is inside
    [IMG]

In the first one is the Supply:thumb::

Here Antec did a really good job. It just looks sweet and I get the chills:brrr: of running it finnally in my rig:rock:

In the second bag are all the wires:
On every Wire is a small notice where they have to be placed
I guess when somebody buys a 200€ Power Supply he knows where the plugs have to go and where not :hip:

The Wiring has just one use to get the power where it's needed but here I don't really know what Antec was thinking:confused:. Because the Wires really look crappy and with barely no sleeve on it. I don't expect to habe allready sleeved wires with it but my 80€ EVGA NOVA had them allready sleeved.

The next steps are sleeving. I am still need to decide if I can keep the Antec wires or if I have do make my own. The only problem on makeing it my own is:clap:. I don't own euqipment to crimp at all :grr: and the mdpc-x shop in germany is on holiday -.- .
Does anyone know a good european shop where I can get a hold of crimping tools and crimps etc. I know http://www.e22.biz/ there they sell the LC ratchet crimper. I really believe it is a nice tool but it cost 50€ with shipping which is a lot.
So If anyone know a good shop please post it and I will have a look :)
