I fear there may not be a general consensus, but worth a try.

Need to find a 1155 board for my 2500K. What boards seem to be generally reliable, that are good for overclocking and aren't notorious for boot loops or instability? Apparently Z77, P67 and Z68 are the only options for overclocking.

I have (although I'm about to sell it) an Asus Gene-Z (Z68) and it is a great board so I can fully recommend that. The Z77 version, the Gene V is excellent also and that is what I'm currently using with a 3570K.

I've had my 2500K in an Asus P8P67 for a little over three years, running at 4.4GHz. It's not a board with all the bells and whistles but it's been fine for me.

I have had the Gigabyte Sniper M3 for a year or so. I must admit I don't overclock though.

    I've had an

    1.) MSI p65 gd65
    2.) ASUS Gene IV
    3.) ASUS Gene V

All good boards, but the Gene's are the best.

I'll agree with the Gene IV as a buying recommendation (provided someone is willing to spend £100+).

As for the Gene V, do you still have yours? If yes, stick it on ebay for £299.99 and you'll be the cheapest seller by miles as no shops have a decent selection of 1155 boards any more.

We can recommend boards until the cows come home, but it's going to depend on what the OP's budget is at the end of day...

I purposefully didn't include budget both so that it'd be a general thread and also to avoid any new/used confusion, and because you never know how cheap something will turn up as on the marketplace or elsewhere.

Besides, (naturally) as soon as I made the thread I got an Asus Gene-Z from meandmymouth.
