Is bit tech dying, I ask this since when I first started coming to this site there was a lot more content being posted and alot more reviews and what was the best buy, it seems to be slowly but surely reducing, any thoughts on this?

No not dying it was murdered by everybody's friend Felix Dennis

TBH you can't put all the blame on Dennis there's been some bad decisions made by staff over the last year or so, So called improvements

I said about a year ago they would kill BT

I would argue that the changes implemented by the staff were likey prompted by reductions in resources, so I'm quite content to blame Dennis.

I have a lot of respect for the remaining staff, who are clearly working as hard as they can. I fear it isn't enough though, and bit's days are numbered.

I fervently hope I'm very, very wrong.

From what I observe the forum community operates largely independently from bit tech; so in that sense I'd say it was alive and well.

If a day came where the forums were to close I'm sure some enterprising member would open another.

It's such a lovely forum I don't see it going anywhere at the moment.

I can't leave here, because the layout of the forum makes logical sense, other forums seem bloated and confusing layout which makes them "bitty"

I love coming to Bittech, so I really hope it isn't dying.

But if it did it would certainly improve relations between the wife and I. She's always complaining that I spend far too long on here :hehe:

I would love to contribute to the tech news featured at Bit Tech. For a long time I've thought what's missing from tech review sites focused on performance/energy saving and totally neglecting other aspects such as quality of plastic used on IO ports or how shiny a motherboard is when exposed to bright lights.

I would like to see a tech review of a motherboard that isn't concerned with what's inside but how the board makes you feel when you hold it at a certain angle or smell it up close.

A german friend of mine likes to sniff computer fans.

Then again he also thought his neighbour's satellite dish was "bending light rays" and messing with his head.

I feel like the truth lies somewhere between these two very well made points.

The site? Maybe. I feel sorry for the staff, they're doing a great job, but most of the enthusiasm present in old articles and reviews seems to have gone… :(

The forums? Nah, don't think so, they'll be around for a while. I've got the feeling they've somehow changed though… But maybe that's just nostalgia from my lurker-days… Good times. :)
    Still the best forums around.
