I can't believe it's been 3 years since we ran this last poll, so it's a good time to see how/if things have changed.

Let us know what component colours you prefer your PCBs/sockets/internal computer bits to be, or, does it not make a difference to you?

    Poll in 3.. 2.. 1..

Yay first poller, I like ocean blue gigabyte looks but I also like my MSI-GD65's shade of brown colour that it uses, looks very nice unlike light brown motherboards, I think you forgot the dark brown option :p

Ocean blue is definately the best though, the RAM and PCI slots need to be able to complement the colour of the board though.

Black PCBs for me please. I agree with storm that RAM and PCI slots should complement the colour of the board, preferrably black or grey.

The reason I like these components to be in neutral colours is that it is very hard to mod them. The heatsinks can be removed and re-anodized a different colour or replaced with waterblocks but the rest of the board can't really be changed.

In saying this, I tend to buy on performance/price rather than aesthetics.

Black, but like to have bright sockets and things, preferably red like the asus republic of gamers boards or blue like the new msi boards.

I dont mind but I selected blue because I quite like the sutelty of it... The type of blue depends on the colour of the board.

Black or blue. ASUS is nice.

    EDIT:

Sorry, I meant that MSI is nice (790FX GD70 is the best looking board I've seen till date).

I occasionally like the black/red or black/orange boards - mainly depends on the mod and the case lighting.

Black and red. Everyone knows that red equals faster overclocks :cooldude:

Black and red everytime for me.

A Rampage II Gene with Dominator RAM, ATI Radeon (in red/black) looks really nice in a case with a black interior...

I must say I like the colour of that cheap red motherboard in the buyers guide.

Not bits of red like these high end boards, but red from start to finish :)

Blue for teh win, its a shame that they don't have boards that compliment the gpu, so red and black is covered with the rampage boardds and asus, but there isn't anything for Nvidia :(

    Edit: Love this board :D

don't care, green or normal brown is fine for me, it's going to be in a case anyway.

black is nice, but as long as it doesn't add to the cost, i know brown PCB's are cheapest to get.

I voted for I don't care, because I don't choose based on colour. But if I did, I'd buy DFI boards because they're nice and colourful. The black and red combo looks pretty nice though (e.g. Foxconn Bloodrage).

I picked blue because that's what I have at the moment, and my ram matches. At least Gigabyte have used complimentary shades and colours now. I hate boards with 5 or 6 different colours. Yes it stuck away in the case, no I don't have a window, but when I open my case up to do some cleaning, tidying or replacing bits, I don't want to feel like I've been trated like a three year old getting my first PC by colours kit.

As well as Gigabyte's, EVGA's boards are nice with all black or black and green. Black and red is nice too, and if you can find a Titan Fenrir Xmas edition, all the better, the problem then is your stuck with OCZ Obsidion ram to match it.

What's wrong with wanting your PC to look good as well as perform well? It would be nice to have more colour options for the various components, we aren't all super modders after all.

Fully transparent PCB isn't possible right? The layer(s) of metal or something would block the view.. Though even seeing that would be pretty nice tbh.

    Voted for white, silver, transparent
