I've dropped on a cheap Microserver and I need an OS for it.

I'd like to dedicate one drive as a general server with a little bit of streaming and have the rest of the storage as a secure backup/NAS.

What are my options? Will FreeNAS fit the bill?

    Thanks

unRAID with Plex Media Server for your streaming? unRAID runs from a USB stick which can sit unobtrusively in the internal USB port, meaning that you get to use all your hard drives for storage.

OpenMedaVault (Debian based) with the SATA port reused for the system drive, and the 4 drive bays for data storage is also an option.

Thanks guys - I'll look into them when the server arrives next week.

I've installed XPEnology's Synology DiskStation clone on it for the moment - going to have a play around and see if it suits my needs.
