Hi all, as im hopefully going to university next (academic) year, i was wondering how many people on here are in education, high school, uni, ect... so i thought i would set up our own thread, with uni based pc modding/building.
So what you want to know is how many bit-tech members are students? Quite a few! Keep in mind that all modding/building related stuff goes in the modding/project logs section
lol now now... remember there are people on benefits aswell Working Students - goddamn taxdodging goits Benefits [flame] Nah cool thread buddy, my friend at uni actually mods cases and uses them for his assessments (he's an enginner) which is awesome
Alas, I don't expect you to watch countdown as you don't pay the TV licence! Filthy kids... get off my lawn! [/Derailment]
I pay for a TV Licence and I pay tax on my jobs that earn over my tax allowance. I also have £30,000 of debt and am paying interest on it. If it's ok to get a mortgage, or have credit cards, why isn't it ok to have a student loan? Is it because it isn't secured against anything or because you're delluded with the stereotype that all students do is drink and have fun? I worked damn hard at university and £3,500 a year to live off is near impossible, thus having to pay tax on what I earnt to live. 70 hours a week to study and work part time is what I used to do, like many others I can imagine. I'm not after any sympathy, but perhaps a little respect from people that haven't gone to universty. It isn't easy, it isn't all about drinking and I can't remember a day of my undergraduate days when I wasn't worrying about money. I'm also going to guess BRAWL that you're from Loughborough or nearby with an attitute like that toward students. I don't think you're trolling, you're using it as an excuse to give misguided opinions of 'tax-dodgers' and I'm f*****g sick of people who do it.
I think you will find brawls wasn't being serious in the slightest and was attempting humour, by the looks of it not your sort of humour lol.
I'm currently a 2nd year computer science student, just about to start my work placement for a software development company in belfast, well in june atleast I cant wait to make some dosh
oh dear! i fear i may have done more harm than good creating this thread! i did not want to cause an argument! sorry guys
Haha don't worry about it, I was just having a misguided rant about it. A lot of my mates here aren't students and I get a 'dirty student' remark quite often, it does wear think tbh. I could have taken an arrogant sarcastic approach, but I don't aim to offend.
