Good read. Good to see the 650ti getting some credit

I do have to disagree with the 650ti. All of Nvidia's budget range have been overpriced and not delivered on it, compared to AMDs lower priced offerings.

No love for the Raspberry Pi? :D

Gotta agree, 2012 really has been the Prodigys year.

Good case but it didn't really change very much from the r3.

The article says they aren't the fastest, however they are able to fit in a tight spot, that's why had to punt for one.

But why would you bother with a 650 at all when a A10 is just as good and takes up less space...?

The GTX 670 2GB is the single best piece of hardware to appear in 2012 imo.
The Gigabyte edition with the triple 'Windforce' cooler to be precise - it's an incredible graphics card and I love it dearly.

Weirdly, a lot of the best hardware I bought in 2012 is actually quite old:
    Crucial M4 256GB (2011)
    Asus Xonar DX (2008)
    Steelseries 6GV2 mechanical keyboard (2011)

A wee bit disingenuous to say that the 7850 is £120, when it hasn't been that price since about 5 seconds after Bit-Tech reviewed it :D

Already had a i5 from a previous build and got a h67 itx board and case for free. All now fits in the stupidly small Ikea desk iv had to buy.

The 650ti isn't great, but is doing the job for me at least.

    £119.74

Were you thinking it was more or less expensive, as that's the cheapest one on scan.

Could not agree more about the 7850.

Picked one up for an eval/test card until a deal on a 670 or 7970 popped up; after "experiencing" both the 670 Cheesecake and a stock Diamond 7970 I decided to save my money and sit tight - damn thing runs dead quiet OC'd to 1200 core under full load, never hits anywhere close to 60C, all off a single 6-pin cable. If not for AMD's sub-par software, drivers and mountain of issues with crossfire I'd pick up another one in a heartbeat, just a superb little card.

BTW no love for the CM Elite 120?

Nice to see the Phantom 820 on the list, it's a great piece of kit - although the looks are probably not to everyone's taste.

While I only had one for a few weeks I had some good time with my MSI HD7850 and think for the money it's a fantastic card.

The 24" PowerGlide Extreme by pcspecialist also deserves a mention in my opinion. It's an all in one with serious gaming credentials when specced right. I don't think Bit tech ever reviewed it but I think it was worthy of an honourable mention if nothing else.
