Hey guys im going to be using a 14 0 rad in ny next build and I havnt decided which fans to use yet. They will probably be in a push pull config, hopefully low rpm Any thoughts?
Nidec Servo GentleTyphoon's on 120=>140 converters... sad but true. ...unless you can get your hands on some Sanyo Denki 109P1412M101's and undervolt them.
Is the Thermalright TY-140 suitable for rads? They use it on their high end heatsinks but I'm not sure if it has the static pressure for use on radiators.
Noise locker pk2's should do the trick. Though the phobya ones are meant to be good I've heard the newer typhoons make a Clicky sound which is pure fail
I don't know how good Akasa Apache blades are in the 140mm flavour, but they're pretty good in 120mm and i'd like to think they keep their excellent performance through to the bigger size. Not a good basis for a reccomendation really.
Which phobya ones? Cheers for the suggestions so far guys. Il do some research on the ones mentioned. Any others? Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk
When I had my 140mm in a rig I just used 2 1000RPM Yate Loons, worked beautifully and I couldn't hear them.
I've got a couple of Noiseblocker PK2s for case fans. They're not bad for noise at full speed (slightly louder than AP-15s) and it's a smooth sounding wind noise. They do 'tick' very slightly at 5v but you have to be within a foot or so to hear it. As they're sleeve bearing fans they have noisy motors in a horizontal position. I don't know what they're like on rads though, I'd guess similar to AP-14s.
http://www.specialtech.co.uk/spshop...G-14-PWM-Black-Silent-Case-Fan-pid-13564.html They are the phobya ones, the yates are good as well actually
Akasa 14cm Viper/Apache (i know someone with these on their rad, works great) or Coolermaster Excalibur (12cm, so you would need adapters of some sort, but they are fast and have high pressure, which is what you want for a rad)
Cool thank you. So have you used these on rads? Or used that all? They look pretty good Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk
I'm using these with my 560 rad http://www.aquatuning.co.uk/product...lent-Waterproof-1000rpm---140x140x25mm--.html seem pretty good tbh, quite push a decent amount of air and I can even undervolt them, and run them alot slower if needs be, but thats only because the 560 is a bit overkill for the 1 580 I have at the moment and the 2700k
nothing lol. I decided that another watercooled pc was not required at least until I had perfected the sig rig. So now the 140mm rads I bought are sitting around brand new in the box! I really must get round to ebaying them.
with 2 fans running very very slowly and a room temp of around 25 C, I get max of around 40 degrees max on the GPU and I can't remember what temps I got on the CPU, slightly more if I remember correctly, but not much
what you got (rad) and if you plan on selling it I may want it. cool have you got your GPU overclocked?
