What type of fans work best with the 120mm and 240mm BIX rads?

I can install push pull too.

    Thanks in advance.

Something with high static pressure. Those BIX rads have very high FPI IIRC.

There has been some confusion with people over the CFM rating. I bought my 8 x fans at Kikatek and on their website the CFM was quoted as 52. If u go to the Arctic website, the F12 PWM is rated at 74CFM. What I got was 8 x 74CFM fans and as u say the price is low.

    Fantastic cooling performance.

    F12's noted, cheers.

Would Phobya Nano-G 12 PWM be any good?
I like the idea of being able to remove the blades for cleaning and being easy to paint.

    • Nominal speed: 600-1500rpm.
    • Airflow: max. 63.44CFM.
    • Noise Level: 10 - 25 dB (A).
    • MTBF (25°C): 100,000hrs.

In respect of the Arctic Cooling the 74cfm is claimed by the manufacturer, the 30cfm is actually the result of being tested on a Swiftech MCR rad. I wouldn't trust the majority of manufacturers claims.

This testing will give you an idea of some fans

The GT 1850s worked well on the BIX120 rad.

Well they blow bigtime compared to my old fans. First thing I noticed was all the dust blown out of the back of the rad. With the fans on 30% speed I can feel a breeze 1 metre away (couldn't with my old fans).

So I don't know what the actual CFM is but they dropped by GPU temps a further 10c which was totally unexpected.

    :)

Oh they were the cheapest crap I could find. I bought them on ebay. They had massive motor hubs and short stumpy blades. Pretty blue LEDS though.

It's a good fan. The GTX is a dual pass rad., so you might want something a bit more powerful. If have you decided to go silent fans, I suggest changing your rad. to one of the SR1 series, which are optimized for silent fans. I hope this helps. ;)

Just fitted a couple of Delta FFB1212EHE to my BIX RAD!

190CFM and the noise to match! :D

Be aware that those use a molex connector for power. You can crimp on fan connectors or use a molex/fan adapter though to use on a decent fan controller.

If you do get them send me a pm as I have a few of the molex/fan adapters you can have for postage.

Cheers mate, Is getting them onto the m/board headers is a no go?
Ideally I would like to have them controlled from the BIOS (possibly with a G1/4 temp sensor)
I'm not going to have space for a fan controller (only have 2x 5.25 bays)

They're rated at 0.22A with a starting current of 0.97A so 3 might be risky.

What's that big round thing obscuring the fan blades?

    :)
