I have 3 HD and I don't want to RAID any of them. I have inserted my optical drive into red sata 1, and the three HD into red sata 2, 3 and 4. Should i have put the HD into the orange Marvell satas with SAS, I'm a bit confused. The windows disk is loading but it just seems to hang?

I can take a while did about 20 mins on mine last night, then installed really quickly. I assume its 'hanging' when its on a windows looking screen right? not the bios or anything? (i know i didn't explain that well)

windows says it 'can't locate drivers' but when I search for them I can definitely see them on the disk

I'm pretty sure you want your HDDs on the native SATA ports (the ones provided by the main chipset). Personally I always connect the first HDD to the first SATA port and optical drives to the last SATA port(s).

Apart from that, which version of Windows are you trying to install?

I put my optical drive on SATA 6, I also disconnected my card reader.

I'm running windows 7 64-bit. However, I have also tried vista 32 and 64 bit

Which motherboard and, if applicable, which revision of it are you using?

I made a bootable flash drive and this appears to have solved the problem.
