Hi folks whilst I had no plans for starting any other projects until Silver Ghost was finished I got an email from EK waterblocks in January asking me to pick all the stuff I would need to build inside their new limited edition Vulture Case, Obviously this was way to exciting to pass on and that was never ever a thought so I got to thinking about what would look nice in the case............ Just love the red and grey thing so we are going to try and get in the zone with the colors and with the Case being so dam sexy In my mind they are well matched. So this arrived last Friday: The Case Is Made from 3mm Aluminum held together with 8mm M4 CS bolts and is a fantastic bit of kit this is of no doubt long before you have started to build in it. Inside next And the much talked about curve And next the Cooling or most of it as I am minus the 360mm Rad but that will be here very soon And Massive thanks to MSI for supporting this project with some hardware The Specs : CPU: Intel 4690k M/B: MSI Z97I GAMING ACK GPU: MSI Titan Black RAM:Yes it will defo have some of that PSU: Corsair HX850i SSD: Samsung 840 EVO 250GB Cooling by EK with all of their latest Blocks fittings rads and the new Vadar fans. That is all for now the case panels have been acid dipped to remove the powder coating and we be getting re coated in a grey as to be honest the cost alone of the Paint to match the car was out of the question when I can powder coat it for so much less and will be much more durable for taking to a LAN so the next update will be when the RAD arrives and we can get to the loop this is a very simple and easy project. the case itself has been designed to make the loop easy for the beginner or lots of fun for the more experienced out there and will be as ever done with rigid tube this time its EK's own one rather than my usual E22 but I am told its very nice to work with Ill get to bending some this weekend bye for now
Thank you guys the case is dam special for sure the 3mm Panels really do make a difference. Its another one built for the user in mind as well as the aesthetics and I cannot speak of the performance but it got a i5 and a Titan black to keep cool so I will see how a single 360mm rad holds up to this
The Big Update Hi again folks its took a few weeks to get back with the 1st update as I have been busy with building some PCs for friends and some Clients but got a lot of pics and a you can now see how the loop will fit inside. The 1st thing to be done was get the case powder coated grey and get the vinyls made so with the case being number 09 and the theme being based around the car I have used the 09 as part of a racing livery if you like.. I will be adding a few more not on this back panel just a few small ones here and there so here we are with some pics .. The Titan Black with block Just a quick tease if the paint color on the front Panel .. Now Time for getting some stuff installed and plan the loop ... And this is Dexter my new helper and mascot thanks to MSI The EK Vadar Fans installed So to control the fans I am using this power distribution from mod my toys and dust has been removed bane of my life is dust also installed the pump/ res combo with the EK bracket. With this being a sports car we did not need any extra weight that was not making it run cooler so I removed the HDD cage and put an extra 120mm rad in there but I will have to swap them black extenders out for black nickel as they will niggle me even If I cannot see them I will know they are there held in with some Parvum cubes until I fabricate a plate for it Made some new stickers for the Ram So before I get to cutting and bending the loop this is about where we are at for now I have decided to get some cables made by the master himself James from Pexon PCs as I have arthritis and the job takes so much time and pain it becomes impossible so I have to stick to fans and pumps and stuff that can be done in half hours for me and I am also putting in a panel around the motherboard and this will be laser etched but more on that when its done as not a lot I can show you it will be black and red. That is where I leave you again while I get to work on the tube by for now folks
thanks Bro more vinyl to be cut just waitign on a new blade for the plotter Dexter is busy again learning how to use a dremel
The next update Hi again folks i have been a bit unwell for the last few weeks and progress has been slow but we now have a decent update to show you so 1st off here is the laser cut panel for around the motherboard thanks to E22 for the laser magic quick shot of it with some light behind it had to make a little adjustment as it was a bit tight against the PSU To make this light up some metal had to be removed from the case Fixed in some angled aluminum strips to hold the leds and allow the light to get where it needs to be Made a bracket for the 120mm Rad at the back Next up the cables from Pexon PCs just pure perfection best in the UK for sure Perfect fit I was snapped whilst working on the tubes after deciding to make some grey coolant but paint the tubes red to match the new front grill and as I wanted them to be a little different than just using pastel red as I did in this test run Anyway the tube went to the paint shed It will need another coat and some clear coat but this is more what I wanted This is where we leave you again and I will return next week with more
