I meant to put this in the Tech Support forum, sorry

Hey guys, I was wondering if any of you have any experience with IOGear's MiniView USB KVM switches.

I'm at work right now and our hypervisor+manager servers are all connected to one set of keyboard/monitor/etc using a GCS634U KVM switch, but we have an issue.

There are two USB ports on the KVM switch, one for keyboard and one for mouse. The thing is, if the keyboard is in the keyboard port, you can switch through PCs (using the whole ScrollLock+Enter command), but you cannot type normally on the OS. When the keyboard is in the mouse port, you can type, but you can't switch.

The solution would be simple: two keyboards. But our administrator insists we need a mouse as well.

So I'm wondering; is it faulty? Or is that how it's supposed to work and we're missing something?
