Case Mod - In Progress Anniversary H-Tower

Once again it´s time for a worklog.

This time with a very special Case to start with. We´re really proud that we could get our hands on an In Win H-Tower Chassis. We fall in love with this Piece of Art on first sight, so we´re really happy to do a Project with one of those beauties.

And because of the speciality of the Case we couldn´t hurt it that much. So this time we´re going to change only the Color of the Case from a Black/Red Color Combination to a White/Blue/Silver Paintjob. Beside that we´re going to make some smaller mods but that´s something you will see within this very short Log.


So before we really start over with a few first pics of this Masterpiece, we want to thank all those great Guys & Girls at In Win, Asus, Klevv, Aquatuning, EK Waterblocks, Be Quiet , Createx & Iwata for all their help and their awesome Support!!!

That's just nuts. I think we should all just give up now, the case manufacturers are outstripping us on innovation.

Like you can imagine...before we could start the disassembling process of this beauty.....we had to press the magical buttons a few hundred times.....just to see how it unfolds

But then there cames the moment when we had to start.....so we started from the Top working our Way down to the bottom of the Chassis.....




















As next we´re going to wet sand all parts so that we could start the painting process with a really smooth surface.....

 

After disassembling all parts, we directly started to wet sand their surfaces so that we get rid of the structure from the original brushed surface....

as soon as the sanding process was finished we started to add the first layers of fresh paint to the first parts....

​

Beside that we already rebuild the graphics from the ROG Version and plotted them out so that we could add them later....

​

We also started to paint the first blue parts with the Paint Createx provided for this mod, but to finish them all will take some time because each part has to be painted 3 times (primer/silver/blue) to get the effect we wanted. Its hard to capture on pics but the final color looks nearly the same if they would be anodized in blue....

On Top of the White Parts we will add an sparkling effect layer, we just started to add that layer on the first parts....so better pics will follow

We also overworked the first smaller details.....more will follow....

​

 

As next we started the work on the watercooling reservoir. For that we took a big piece of 4 cm thick plexiglas and mounted on our cnc mill so that we could start the cutting process which took a little while....

then we cutted out top and bottom for the reservoir....

​

With those raw parts in our hands we could directly start the sanding / polishing of all parts so that we could glue them together....

Beside that we continued the painting process of the next pieces.....

​

We also painted the first details to the backside of the mainbase.....

​

 

In the time between the most of the Hardware arrived so that we can also start to modify the one or other part....so that it matches to our colors.....
We started with the PSU .....which we took apart so that the loose parts could get fresh paint.....

After that we switched over and prepared a Alphacool Eisflügel Flow indicator....

We also mounted the Waterblock for the CPU & Board...

​

As next we´re going to finish the polishing Process of the Painted parts....so that we could start to assemble everything again.....

 

As next we continued with the first pair of SSD Holders which we cut out and we already polished the edges....after making the first pair out of clear plexiglass....we switched to UV-Blue for the second pair....










After that we printed a cover for the SLI Bridges and painted it.....

And like mentioned before, we finish the painting process and start to polish everything.....

we also painted the radiator and mounted the Fans so that we could start the assembly process....

Now cut that case to bits now.

 

What process did you use to paint those pieces?

we first thought to cut that case into pieces, but when it arrived we couldn´t hurt it that much

the process was a light sanding first, just to get a smooth surface, after that we put primer on it....then the primer was sanded , then we applied a coat of silver, let it dry & sanded it ....after that we put a coat of the blue Color on Top of the Silver, let it dry and sanded it ....last but not least we put clearcoat over it and ....sanded it. ....and then we started the polishing of all the parts....






Today we started the assembly process....so not much to say about it....just like the disassembly....only in reverse order.....

First we started with the bottom section.....screwed the switches & buttons in their places and mounted all cables......

after that we attached the bottom side panels and start to integrate the midplate so that we could mount the motor for the lift and attach all the ports for the LEDs/End Switches/Bluetooth.....

Like you can imagine, we needed a bit of time to get everything sorted again and put all parts from the bottom section together....but there are still a lot parts left......

so we continued with the next parts for the Main Section of this Beauty.....

tomorrow we will finish the assembly of the upper section and start to mount the first Hardware Parts......

 

That In Win reservoir is on point! Everything else looks great, too. Love the degree of modification you're treating this unique case to. Can't wait to see more.

Today we continued the assembly process.....

We started with the mainbase so that we could continue with all those parts which has to be mounted on it......

I don't know why, but it kind of reminds me of a sewing machine right now.

Today we finished the assembly process of the case. After that we prepared a plexiglas piece on which we´re going to mount all 4 SSD´s, Pump & Reservoir for the Watercooling Loop. The Plexiglas Plate itself will be mounted in Front of the Mainboard.

After that we mounted the Mainboard and start to prepare the Glass Tubing for the Loop....

​

And finally we mounted the last Hardware Parts like the PSU, pluged all cables in and filled the Loop so that we´re finally ready for a first test......

And than we made a first set of final pics....before we have to move this beauty to the Gamescom where it will be displayed @ the Booth of KLEVV (Hall 5.1)

Although, it really hurts my eyes to see you using nickel fittings.... White or BP royal blue would look 10x times better with the rest of the build.

Both paintjob and reservoir quality is mind blowing
