    Hi Guy's

I have a spare laptop and desktop which I would like to put to good use for my daughter. She is 5 and really wants to use either my PC or the wifes laptop/tablet. It would be awesome for her to have her own device that she can use (supervised of course)and would be a benefit to her.

I would prefer something that didn't require a base install of windows and perhaps was a modified version of Linux. I'm happy to pay as long as it comes with educational games etc.

I ran the DouDou Linux but I wasn't impressed much. It all seems very dated and buggy. I will let the daughter have a play tonight but I'm still going to try a different OS.

Lokks worth a try. I just started a trial of this http://kidoz.net/ Pricing seems reasonable but only downside is it requires a base install of Windows.

Install Debian, don't install the GUI. Sit her down in front of it and tell there'll be no ice-cream until she's set up a WAN facing FTP server.

    That'll learn her.
