Evening all Originally planned for 2 x 24/hr PCs at work, but one of them is now redundant as I picked up a DELL Presicion with 2 x 16X PCI-E slots .... trouble is I have a 512MB 9800GT and an 512MB 8800GTS which have 112 and 128 streams respectively. The PSU is 575W, so thinking I should sell the 8800GTS and get another 9800GT as I beleive they have lower power requirements? Will the PSU run 2 x 8800GTS plus a low end Core 2 Duo, or should I go for 2 x 9800GT. I was running the 8800GTS off a 305w PSU ... Anybody want to swap an 8800GTS for a 9800GT, or a 9800GT for an 8800GTS (depends on above advice). Would prefer 2 x 8800GTS obviously Thanks.
Yup you will be fine running 2 x 8800gts on a 575w PSU, they wont pull much more than the 9800GT's. I'm running a E8400 C2D @ 3.6ghz and 2 x 9800GT's on a Enermax 480w PSU and never had an issue with it You could just run both your cards as they are without swapping one for the other, would work fine, the 9800GT's are good for 108mhz shader increase without problems
One of these should be fine if you want another 9800gt because they have the same amount of streams. http://www.videocardshop.co.uk/prod...239-0UTCQS@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@&prodid=PV-T88P-UHF Or these if you must have a 9series http://www.videocardshop.co.uk/prod...239-0UTCQS@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@&prodid=PV-T98G-YDL The 8800gts 512s seem quite thin on the ground. Although i suppose you could add a gts250 http://www.ebuyer.com/product/160711 if you kept your 8800gts
