After a weeks work, frustration and sweat managed to get number 1 on the ORB in 3dmark 2001 in the 6800LE class. It's not the best of overclocks, and it's far from number 1 overall, but it's kinda a milestone for me and I'm dead chuffed with it http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k1=8779299 thats the ORB compare URL, all the specs are in the compare
Nice 3DMark '01 is more of a CPU benchmark now than a graphics one. Obviously, graphics has something to do with it, but it's mainly just a CPU/RAM test (which makes it good for testing overclocks).
Yip, though when you get to silly CPU speeds you become graphics limited. Gained close to around 4,000 points just by GFX overclocking, X800 showed ~ 3000 increase going from 2.5 -> 2.88ghz, same gfx clocks.
yeah i get 28k with stock 6800gt (on my dothan pc) really goes up when clocking. but when i had my old northwood clocking the 6800gt didnt make much difference
Well.. my system ain't no slouch!.. well it is at the moment, seeing as half of it is sat on Tim's desk My fastest 01 was done with a 285MHz FSB, and the FX57 at 3.2GHz.. still didn't beat you! What's your 05 score with that thing?
