Ok, so there'll probably be an article on this soon.. But at Computex, Corsair released some new cases into the wild.. You have the (Full Tower) Graphite 780T: http://www.pcper.com/image/view/41748?return=node/60345 http://www.pcper.com/image/view/41751?return=node/60345 Then there's two Mini ITX cases, the 240 Air and the 380T.. Carbide Air 240 : http://www.pcper.com/image/view/41813?return=node/60345 Graphite 380T: http://www.pcper.com/image/view/41750?return=node/60345 What do you think of them?
I absolutely love the Air 240, and I am quite partial to the 380T. It's still not something I'd want sitting on my desk everyday, however.
Apparently it is! I'm liking the look of the mATX/ITX pair, except from the notable lack of optical drive slots! There isn't even a slim slot put in somewhere.. I'm interested in the internal layout of them though.. You may be able to get the out and make an ODD slot for yourself! (Especially a slot-loading slit on the top of the 240.. *drools*)
Love the 780T, may consider it in my build at the end of the summer. (job dependant!) Had been looking down the line of a simpler looking case but im loving the angles, especially in white.
Both those ITX cases are sweeeeet! Unlike Impatience, I totally LOVE the lack of optical drives. Haven't had one for about 5 years now!
Air 240 isn't bad. How many hdd can it have, 8? That would be a good candidate for new home server if so. The rest of them look tacky, and especially that 380T which reminds me of...
Yeah the 380T looks pretty odd, although the Air 240 actually looks okay. Still think the 250D is the case for me.
Ok.. I've just been put off the 380T FOR LIFE! So there was me thinking it was a dinky little 250D-sized carry case ITX.. No, this thing dwarfs a Aerocool Dead Silence! Read that in Corsairs little blurb that they've put on their website.. Got really excited! Then they drop how big it is.. This could EASILY fit a mATX and full watercooling loop in it, unless the walls are two inch thick! What were they thinking?! Source: http://www.corsair.com/en-us/landing/graphite-series-380t-780t Oh, and btw.. They dont have any actual specs of the Carbide Air 240.. Just advertising jargon.
I wish they had released the Carbide Air 240 a year ago, when I was miniaturising. Probably would have gone with that case instead. The 380T looks kinda neat. But does seem quite large. Like the latch side panels, not sure i'd want them on that case since I'm not sure I'd want people having quick access at LANs.
Blimey... (HxWxD) 380T - 440x365x450 250D - 290x277x351 The 250D isn't exactly tiny by ITX standards (well mine isn't anyway).
I know.. I was hoping it was a 250D with a facelift and a handle! But instead it's bigger than nearly every ITX and most mATX cases! It's not like the 250D had a lack of internal space! You can have a full WC loop with an i7 and a 780Ti/290X in it.. Why would you need anything bigger than that for a case that ONLY can use ITX? I'm worried for the size of the Carbide 240 now, considering they advertise it as having mATX support as well!
I've put a post on their "computex releases" thread on the Corsair Forum asking why it's so big.. Hopefully they'll respond! If they do, i'll repost their response onto here. Also, i've asked for dimensions of the 240.. Just for those who are interested (It would seem more are interested in that than the 380T)
Yup! Great little case. I just wish it didn't have a million thumb screws on the back.... When building mine up I was eyeing up the future potential for WC & the fact that a 295X2 will technically fit... Just! I would love to see the 380T alongside a 250D just to get a impression of how much bigger it is.
Edited the post on there to ask for a comparison shot, and possibly a sneak internals shot of each case!
Anyone manage to dig up dimensions on the 240 yet? There is a distinct lack of details about it even on Corsairs website.
Awaiting a reply from the Corsair staff on their forum.. Posted earlier today, but the Mod who started the thread wasn't online because of the time difference..
