Other BFBC2 crashes to desktop while connecting to a server

When I first installed it everything worked just fine. A week ago it crashed to desktop all the time and at random times, sometimes during loading or during game play, somehow I fixed it and it worked for a day or two. Last night it started crashing again, every single time I when to start a multiplayer game, before selecting your kit, it would crash to my desktop without a error message.


Any suggestions? punkbusters and the game are up to date, ATI 10.7, and DX has also been updated

 

did you run a manual update on punkbuster ?

 

I get that whenever connecting to a server hosted by 4netplayers, and some others. No idea why.

 

OK all fixed. I uninstalled BFBC2 and then tried to reinstall it but kept getting a c2.cad file error. I decided to roll back windows to a date before I installed it. I messed it up and didn't give it enough time during the reboot.


So I had to reinstall Windows XP altogether. Everything went fine, all my data was backed up and all my redownloaded and installed. Cutting to the chase everything is fine now no errors and not crashes.


Plus my PC is running quite a bit faster

 

I had a very similar issue with mine, and a GFX driver fixed it.

To be honest I wish it hadn't fixed it.................Worst game EVER!
