As the title says the task bar remains below the monitor when I have finished gaming. I know it is there as the top half of the double arrow appears and I can right click below the monitor bezel.

This is a very fresh install of Windows 7 64bit.

    Any suggestions?

Have you run all the updates on Windows (as it is a fresh install)? Safe to assume you have all the latest drivers installed?

Everything is up to date. I am quite experienced in Windows installation as for a while I was swapping mobo's all to often. If I do not get any suggested solutions I will see what if anything happens when I upgrade the GPU to a 980 shortly.

Could it be the monitor not resetting back to the correct resolution ?
Does the taskbar show up if you change the vertical position settings on the monitor ?

I guess your monitor has it's own built in menu for adjusting things like color, brightness, sharpness, horizontal/vertical position.

If you use the monitors own settings menu and adjust the vertical position it should move what is being displayed up or down on the screen, if you do this can you see the taskbar ?
