If it was exclusively adults playing it then they should leave it alone... but it's clearly for kids as well. They have to keep it clean. Though, as Superbad teaches us, the worst culprits of the knob and boob monsters are going to be the 10 years olds.. and maybe me, but I swear it was only once and it was really funny..

haha, surely they expected this. give people the chance to be creative and you just end up with a load of penises (penii?) and breasts. also its probably mostly kids doing it anyway

Seriously though, this was a natural progression. But really, doesn't EA have more important things to worry about, like finally releasing the game after all these years...

Then again, they're probably just trying to protect themselves from lawsuits the likes of which Rockstar is probably still recovering from.

Its their transmission system they have every right to monitor and set the terms of what you can and cant do. So long as there is no invasion of privacy they can block and ban sporn to their hearts content. If people still wish to send Sporn to each other they can, via email and msn, they just cant use the Sporepedia to do so. I fully support EA and Maxis in this decision as it allows them to get a lower ESRB rating.

I have no problem playing the game and seeing what other people have come up with. But I can see how a parent may not want their little girl's game to be attacked by giant balls.
Kind of figured that something like this would happen. either this or ship the game with premade creatures and block the ability to download user made content.

Absolute worst case scenario.. For players and EA's profit margins.

As awesome as giant cock monsters are, there's an art to making a creature look like 2 creatures (basically give it two sets of everything) graphically mating (I use the spine to represent insertion). I made a horribly realistic one and colored it flesh tone. My friends were never the same. (The key is to put the legs close together to form a realistic ass.)

I would rather not have to deal with immature kid's creatures populating my game. Sure, it'd be funny to see one or two, but after a while it'd just get really lame and tireing of seeing the same penis/boob/sex creature ideas over, and over, and over. The worst part would be that there's probably going to be a LOT of them being created (there's already a lot, so imagine when more people get the full fledged game).

I think eventually it would ruin the game for me.

It's really sad to see what kind of immature and pathetic world we live in. Specially considering the majority of those creatures will be created by males.

I didn't mean for everyone. Just ship it with parental controls so that they can set the game to use premade creatures and not the user made ones. but for people like me I can still choose to download user made content if i want to. that way everyone is happy.
and the user made content has nothing to do with ea's profit margins. If parents see that a game is child friendly I would hope that they are more likely to buy it. Thus increasing game sales.

They could do something similar to Second Life where there are mature and PG rated zones. Just apply it to planets, and force users to check a box, then click an agreement about the mature planets.

But wait, it's EA games. Who ever expected fairness, or quality out of them?

No.. I meant that if they took away the user created content, plenty of people might not buy the game... I probably would become far less interested.

    Greetings!
EAs first expansion for Spore is rumoured to be Invanding Vaginas from a Parallel Universe.
