So! We didn't have a pen thread! I have started this one in the hope that there are a few other people on here that also have a passion for pens of all kinds. It would also be great to see some pen pron! Here are my Mont Blanc pens: I have 11 Mont Blanc inks now I think, I will take a picture of the collection tomorrow!! So... what have you all got to share?
I'll post mine when I have better light. I'd love me one of these...if USPS hadn't recently made it horribly expensive to import over. http://www.levenger.com/L-Tech-Fountain-Pen-Core-6480.aspx
I think I have one of those silver and gold Parker biros somewhere. Quite nice, but my fingers slipped down the barrel. $14 minimum I expect. Very nice! Building your own pens? Here are mine.
Ah, a pen thread, excellent! Has anyone bought/heard something good about these? I've been hankering for one since their kickstarter, but never took the plunge.
I'm still tempted too, here is a pretty good review: http://www.gourmetpens.com/2013/02/review-bigidesign-solid-titanium-pen.html#.UR40mKWHf1w
Making your own pens is pretty popular, honestly. There are lots of forums for pen turners, and lots of amazing materials available to do it with, but I'd probably whittle instead of turn. It's still a Southern tradition, whittling anything you can just to do it. http://artofmanliness.com/2011/12/12/a-beginners-guide-to-whittling/
I do nothing but discredit the human race with my undecipherable scrawl. So a decent pen would be purely aesthetic in my hands. You have some nice pens though. Does that have any caveats in it? Like, they are free with a Bentley?
I'm going to say yes... * alas no I do not now or will not ever own a bentley, it's the universe's fault... the missus works there
The only pen of notice I own is a South African 'American Swiss' ballpoint pen as a birth gift from 15 years ago. No clue how it writes because I need to refill the damn thing, and I can't find any pictures of it either.
I'm trying out my American Swiss pen for the first tine in ages. It's a brilliant writer providing I have a few pieces of paper under the surface, but it's really top- heavy and that's going to take a lot of getting used to.
