    Hi guys.

Going to be buying some UV reactive hose soon. I’d like it to be UV Reactive Blue in colour since I’m using Deionised water. Scan stock TFC and Masterkleer in the size I need (1/2” ID).

Does anyone have a preference for either of the above brands?

I had some TFC stuff a number of years back and it did exactly what it said on the tin..

As for Masterkleer, I haven't used it before so can't comment.

if you're only using barbs, it might be worth considering 7/16" - 5/8" hose. Fits stupendously tight to 1/2" barbs! You need a little power in your arms though and need to make the nozzle pliant with a little body warmth. I've taken my 7/16" hose of the reservoir barb several times and it still sits tight without the use of ties or fasteners!

Before compression fittings, If you didn't want to use clips on your 1/2 you used to use Musketeer 7/16" tube and warm it in water..

I never felt 100% confident with it, but I know many people used to swear by it.

I use XSPC UV clear. It's clear in daylight and blue under UV.

I'm just using compression fittings, so no need to worry about barbs etc.

Think I might go with the TFC.

I've used both but in clear and white. The TFC looks very good but it's a little bit stiffer than Primochill. I wasn't keen on the MasterKleer as it was a bit too soft and kinked easily but I was using thin wall 3/8"ID, 1/2"OD so it might be better in the larger size. The clear did cloud up quite quickly though.

I used TFC UV Green tubing, with Acid Green fluid and it really wasn't that good.

I am now using Masterkleer clear tubing with EK UV Blue fluid and it's really good.

Here is a picture of it, but I have since changed my loop and not put the UV light's back in but will be this week.

Changed the way my loop look's to this now but need to add the UV lights again.

It look's really good especially considering the tubing isn't actually UV reactive, and it's only the fluid inside that is reactive to the UV lights.

I haven't got any pictures saved anymore of my old rig with the Green reactive tubing but I, do have some of the tubing left so I can add the light's in to my pc later this afternoon and upload a picture with just a piece of the green tubing so you, can see what it is like if you want.

Ohhhh, hang on. So is that UV reactive coolant?

I'm using De-ionised water so I need UV reactive tubing, so yes, if you could do the above, it would be very much appreciated.

Yeah that is only UV Reactive coolant NOT UV Reactive Tubing.

I have just dug out some Green Tubing which I think was the Reactive stuff so will get my pc sorted tonight and get a pic uploaded for you to see ASAP.

    Tubing sorted and lights sorted.

Removed the large 140mm rad as it was not doing anything but increasing the core temp's

Anyway you can see the difference between the 1/2" UV Reactive tubing with no fluid compared to the 3/8" UV Reactive Tubing with UV Reactive Coolant, as it turns out the tubing I have is also UV Reactive  really thought it wasn't.

Have you considered UV reactive white tubing? I think white tubing in a black case looks really smart.

I've just picked up some ClearFlex 60 1/2 ID, a few quid per metre.
Must say its very soft and flexible, It does have print on the size of the hose, but a quick rub with spit and it looks like it will come off fine.
I'm going to use EK Blood Red coolant under white lighting.
