    Hy @ all!

we thought we should share this non-PC mod we´re currently building....

As base for our mod we use an old snes gaming console. We got it with a totally broken enclosure...but the electronics still works perfect....so we thought why not make a new case for the console so that it can be used again....

So the first thing we had to do, was to get rid of the rest of the original plastic case...so that we could start over just with the raw pcb of it...

then we cut out a sheet of plexiglas which will be used to mount the pcb on it....therefore we had to make a few holes in it and also had to make a few spacers so that the pcb could be mounted like in its original case...

After that we milled out the sidepanels for the new case...

then we put the first parts together, just to test if the pcb fits in and to see if there were no problems with the height...

As next we work out a nice matching theme for the sidepanels and engraved & cutted out a few brass parts...

Nice engraving on the side panels - did you do it by hand or with a CNC machine?

For the sake of clarity (internationalisation), they aren't genuine suggestions, and ***** probably isn't appropriate. But it looks like the dogs nads so far, so maybe it is appropriate.

    thanks a lot m8´s!!!

@morgansk....they are done by our cnc :D, but there is no problem to do this by hand....we just did it...because...that way we can reuse the pictures on the game cartridge....

Ok, but now it´s time for an update:

as next we stained the wood parts so that we get a much darker color...

beside that we sanded and polished the brass parts to get rid of the last uneveness in the surface which came from the engraving process

then we made a stamp (positive + negative) and tried to emboss a thin sheet of metal with it....(first test)

Awesome idea, scratch build for a classic console, if PC's go sideways I'll be doing a lot of that in the future. :D

This is highly awesome, sooooo damn nice. :D:clap:

    thanks a lot m8´s!!!!

in the last days we continued to work on it....

as first we cut out a few parts for the outter shell...

beside that we prepared a few copper pipe pieces which will be used as a small chimney (with a small smoke generator in it)....

then we worked on the wooden sidepanels....(stain/oil/wax)

and last but not least we worked on the metal for the outter shell...first we embossed it before we bended the whole piece around our sidepanels....

You guys are having a lot of fun with this one. :D I'm guessing the smoke maker will be from the model train industry?

yeah :D it´s really a fun project...and the smoker is really from the model train industry :D

And now, its time for an update again:

First, we continued with a wooden slot for the Cartridges...

as next we continued with a inner frame on which we could mount the outer shell....

And then, we started with the first game cartridges....first a quick disassembly to see whats exactly inside....

after that we directly started to make a cartridge out of wood....

Beside that we also painted a few inner parts and started to build a inner backside to hold all the connectors (AC;TV Out; On/Off)....
