Just to make sure you did plug in the power cable? Had the same problem as you and that turned out to be the issue felt rather silly afterwards.

PCI version of the Xonar has no power cable needed. Only the PCI-E versions.

I think you got a manufacture error.
In any case, I would suggest to buy a PCI-E version of the card (or any other sound card).
PCI will be gone completely soon. Also the Xonar DG is a really low end sound card. I don't think you have notice much over an onboard sound solution, beside the cleaner, no static, and less interference sound. The general rule of thumb, is: if it has color coded plugs, it's very low end model.

I had a problem with mine as well. Installed the disk and nothing. I then downloaded the driver from Asus and it installed no problem. When did a refresh after installing my SSD did it again via downloading the driver again no problem.
But it will not install with a disk.

I'm on my second one now as they seem to be very faulty, They are not even worth it anyways, my on board sound is nearly as good

I had the same problem. But went into the Asus website and downloaded the driver from there and never had a problem. I also did this with my DGX card with no problems.
Try this first. Also make sure before you do this it is a clean install.
