I know one thing for sure...you could tell that all the high schools were out yesterday because my internet cut out on me like 30 times in four hours. It must have been all those kids looking at porn while I was trying to look at porn.

I thought it would be higher than that...

I remember looking at porn when I was barely 13 (about 9 years ago). And at work (we're an IT Training company) we've had retired pensioners who have admitted looking at porn. I wonder how many partners, of the 40%, know that they look at porn?

Thats of total population bear in mind. I dont know for sure but I'd guess internet access in UK homes can't be higher than 70%. I doubt there are too many men who'd risk at work or in their local libary ;).

I've always loved the theory that pornography will give men unrealistic expectations. Despite these figure most men tend to spend more time in the real world than infront of porn sites and know most women aren't huge brested blondes and most require some sort of relationship before you sleep with them. The problem with porn is stifling your laughter for long enough.

England internet coverage is ~60% IIRC, but then it was ages ago since i last looked. And really you could look @ porn anywhere (work) so the stat is kinda low to me.

    you could

but most companys block pr0n sites

or they use monitering software to check what your doing, and if you look on a pr0n site at work, your probably likely to get fired

    LOL! :D

Seriously, though; I think it's important for people to understand and realize the difference between the internet and "real life". It's all to easy to get all wrapped up in a fantasy world and that can get ugly!

Wil, this is a bit of a pet hate, but the England != the UK. Many Americans use the two interchangably, that can be understood to an extent, although not much of one. But a person who lives in the UK doing it, well, theres no reason. I recognise there are arguements for this particular topic, but I've seen it before, and it would be great not to see it again.

I don't think people are really at a danger, for the most part, of having issues with the difference between pr0n and real life. Most people wouldn't rate the former over the latter I don't think. As for 40%, to be honest I find that surprisingly low. I would have thought the number would have been closer to 60 or 70 percent.

Having spent many years now in IRC rooms though, I think kids are actually growing up with a far more mature view of pornography then their parents. 50 years ago it was something very taboo, a really big deal. Now young people(at least among their own gender) will talk about it freely, it's just not a big deal to people anymore. If porn leads to a more sexually mature society where we don't have millions of people whining because a breast was seen on television, then bring on the boobies!

I have a hard time thinking of this as anything but a good thing. First, I agree with Speck and his post. Second, Most of the women i know have at least a passing familairity with it. It's just always been there for them too. When the guys in the mood and she's not, she can say "Bug off and go find some porn" :D

A great man once said: "If they took porn off the internet, i'm pretty sure there'd only be one website left and it'd be called "bring back the porn"."

porn...almost every guy i know has porn on their pc or have seen porn or sees porn eveyday, it is hidden, so the GF dont catch it :D, i have a friend that has about 100GBytes of porn on his pc, this was about 1 year ago and he is getting fresh porn everytime.

porn is a good thing if you see it from some angles, it is a way to learn on how to sc*** and learn something from the female anatomy you would only learn from your girlfriend and maybe hurt her or scare her away. and porn is a good antistress sometimes, unless you strain your wrists to hard. :p

remember that song: "the internet is more porn"?
