Because of the specialist nature of the For Sale / Wanted forums, we have these extra rules which you must obey.

You are able to see the For Sale forum when you get to 75 posts and have been registered for 30 days.

    Illegality

    1. No warez. Gory disgusting death awaits those who try to sell pirated software. We'll delete your post (and ban you), whichever is easier at the time. In the same vein, under no circumstances do we allow our forums to be used for the sale of stolen goods and anyone found doing so will be reported to the relevant authorities.

    2. No Microsoft OEM software. According to the OEM software licence you are not allowed to re-sell OEM software - it is "For distribution with a new PC only".

    3. No Steam Accounts. According to their EULA, you are not allowed to re-sell, charge for the use of, or transfer your steam account. (See http://www.steampowered.com/index.p...riber_agreement )

    4. Microsoft Retail software is ok. However, you must sell it with the Certificate of Authenticity/Licence.

    Traders and Auctions

    5. Strictly no business use or high-volume traders. This is not eBay and people who use the For Sale forum for personal gain without contributing to the community bring nothing to the site - and as such will have their FS access revoked.

5a. No selling on behalf of others. No buts!

    6. No auctions or links to auctions. If you have something for sale, name a price.

6a. No Xbox 360's (or any next gen console) to be sold above their retail price. The for sale forum is for the benefit of the community, and that doesn't give you a license to rip the community off with over-inflated prices.

We class this as trading, and will revoke your For Sale forum priviledges if you attempt to make money on your purchase on Bit-Tech's forums.

    Responsibility

    7. All sales conducted within these forums are the sole responsibility of the people involved. Bit Publishing Ltd, as the administrator of this board, will not be held responsible.

    8. If a deal seems to good to be true then it is. Be aware, and report suspicious posts to a Moderator.

9.If you think you have been ripped off do not post a warning thread. Instead, contact a Moderator.

    10. Don't post your personal address on these forums. They are open to the general public, and as such your address would be freely available to anyone.

    Courtesy

    11. It is appreciated if your posts have :

    FS: For Sale.
    WTD: Wanted.
    SWAP: Swap/Trade.

in the title. This does make it a bit easier for everyone.

    12. Please also include some contact details (email address/IM handle) if they're not in your public profile. All sales are conducted away from the boards.

    13. Do not edit a moderators comments.

    14. Price checks belong in the Price Check forum.

    15. No random commenting, or posting unless you are buying/selling or interested in buying or selling.

This includes commenting on posted prices - if you think something's a rip-off, don't buy it. Links to price checking websites or online stores (save for specification linking) are not allowed.

    16. Discussion of what hardware is good and what isn't belongs in the Hardware section of the forum.

    17. One bump per thread is allowed. Bump more than once and your thread will be closed.

    18. These boards are a nice place to be. Be friendly and helpful at all times - people get especially sensitive where money is concerned!

    Practicalities

    19. Agree beforehand on in what time frame and in what way (post or courier, recorded, insured; method of packaging) the goods are sent to buyer.

    20. Agree beforehand on when payment takes place, and by what method: Paypal, cheque, banker's draft. Do not send cash by post. If it does not arrive, you only have yourself to blame.

    Feedback

    21. Help keep these boards free from scammers. When you have successfully completed a transaction, post a short feedback at the end of the transaction thread.

Buyer: post a short message on whether goods were received in the condition described, and on the date promised.

Seller: post a short message on whether the buyer paid the agreed amount and paid promptly.

This is absolutely vital to keeping the FS forum a safe place to trade.

The rules have been updated regarding the sale of Xbox 360 consoles above the retail price as of today.
