Unusual request, but what colour would describe the buttons on the original Game Boy? I'm after matching paint...

Something about that picture doesn't add up.

Aaaaaand I've just realised that isn't an actual original GameBoy, it's an SP.

As for the colours, I get the feeling the A and B buttons were more purple that in that picture.

Of all the pictures on google images I had to choose the wrong one...

haha, don't worry, there are loads of modded gameboys out there (such as the one mars-bar-man posted which is backlit)!

Should have been more clear, I'm after the name of the colour so I can buy paint to mod a PC keyboard.

    Jazzberry seems close, but elusive:

Why not email Nintendo and ask if they can uncover the Pantone™ reference? Worst they can do is ignore you.

I've emailed them already. Hopefully they don't ignore the ramblings of a crazy man!

I am colour blind and I have no idea what colour the A and B buttons are supposed to be.

    D pad = Black
    Start / Select = Grey
A / B = pinky bluey purple god knows what... The buttons on the one S1W1 posted look red to me but thats already established as a red herring.

No help what so ever I guess :grr:

Why not stick the image in paint / photoshop and use the colour picker?

    Welcome to my world!

Going to head out and trawl model/hardware/car shops this morning, game boy in hand and see what I can find...

    Oh sorry, I see :D
Red-violet looks like the most fitting to me.

To give you more of an idea, This is the image I've mocked up.
Blank spaces I'm taking out the keys, trimming the underside so they don't activate a keypress, gluing them back in, then filling sanding and painting the whole thing.
I've already made and tested a PS/2 to Gamelink lead.
The text is upside down because it will have guitar strap mounts like a keytar!

Because the software I'm using doesn't utilise them, but does detect them and the program slows down with too many or simultaneous keypresses.

    And for looks.
