Hi, I have a problem with the HDMI connection on my VW246H Monitor. I could not get my laptop to connect to the monitor (it only has HDMI-out). But: If another input source is beeing used (PC via DVI), the notebook does connect to the monitor via HDMI. I suspect the monitor simply doesn't look for a connection long enough for the notebook to handshake, and then goes to standby. (as it goes to standby rather quickly, just a few seconds) Is there any way I can remedy this? Best regards, Xir
Good old Asus their reps here really are rubbish Asking questions here is akin to asking it in a graveyard ffs
So when I emailed them asking if they needed someone to cover their PR and various forums, and they told me "we've got it covered, thank you." ... NO, NO you do not.
Quick enough when they want us to test a bench mark out for them but simple basic manners in their PR is non existent, They both suck and blow
To be fair I only started in June and this question is from January... Have you tried manually setting the laptop to output to a projector or other source? Often there is a function key to do this but if not you can look through display settings.
Ah welcome then. I understand that, but this Asus-forum exists since 2014, so someone must have been here before you. Yes I have, and it wil output to two other devices (Toshiba and Epson) but not to this monitor.
So it only happens when the specific monitor is connected to that specific laptop, and every other combination works fine, regardless of inputs? That's really strange, not sure what the problem is in that case I'll let you know if I can find out a solution Have you tried a HDMI-DVI cable, or a DVI adaptor? Might be a weird compatibility issue going on.
DVI works, but the PC is connected to that, hence the HDMI in. It simply goes into standby before the connection is built up, that's why I suspect the handshake-time is too short. (and there's probably no way for a customer to change that)
