    Hey guys,

First of all, my name is Sagar and I am from India

This is my very first mod.

    Project !dea,
Basically I have been fascinated by the LOCKHEED SR-71 BLACKBIRD jet (holds the record for the fastest speed). That is where the name comes from as well as the color scheme.

The parts that I will be using are:
    Intel i7 4770
    Gigabyte B85m D3H-A
Kingston HyperX Fury 1866Mhz 8Gb(4*2) stick [4gb still to come]
    DeepCool DQ750 80+ Gold Semi-Modular power supply
Gigabyte GTX970 G1 Gaming or Zotac GTX 970 AMP! Extreme Edition [Still to buy]
Cryorig C1 or Raijintek Pallas [Still to buy]
    LED strips [Still to buy]

    Side quest 1

Couldn't afford the Sabertooth mobo from Asus, so will try and build one if I get the right material to build it

Right now am making a template out of paper

A test fit on the motherboard, haven't cut the slots for the 24pin, 8pin, SATA, etc.

It actually fits, just gotta get a few mm here and there and it's done

The materials that i would be using are:
    Wood
    Aluminum/Steel
    Acrylic

and tempered glass for the front

These are the measurements for the wood that is to be cut

OFF I GO IN SEARCH OF TOOLS AND MATERIAL :lol:

Forgot to upload the diagram of the angles that would be connecting everything together

Also wanted to clarify that all the parts that I am going to be building would be handmade.
None of them machined just the cuts would be made using power tools, none automated

    Update 5

    New update.
Had to go to anther city for the aluminum support angles

    Here they are cut

They are not same in length due to the 45 degree angles that i cut.

Removing the excess metal using pliers

Removed as much as i could

    A sample of the base

Filing and getting them to equal lengths is a work for tomorrow.

    Update 6

Finally after 2.5hours of cutting and sanding got all the lengths equal as well as the edges smooth

This is what the system will look like when assembled

The mobo and PSU that i will be using are a bit longer on breadth as these are the spare and broken PSU and mobo respectively :cooldude:

After all the cutting and sanding the final dimensions of the aluminum angles are

    Length = 488mm

    Depth = 166mm

    Height = 514mm

I tried a coat of black paint on an extra aluminum
angle and the finish with the paint is very satisfying
So I'm going to go with paint

Officially scrapping the carbon fiber idea

Don't forget to leave room for your HDMI.DVI cable.

    Thank you sir.
I already have enough space for the HDMI and dvi cables to fit properly without getting in the way of the fans on the top.
It is just now visible in the 3d renders:thumb:

    Update 7

Got the holes drilled and the only things left on aluminum are counter punching the holes, sanding and painting

    Update 8

So finally found a drill to counter-sink the drilled holes

This is how the angles look like after drilling

After about 30mins of sanding and a broken nail the hands look like this

But the final result was well worth the pain

Now the only thing left is painting these angles orange
