Wife is away and well I have some spare time again. Decided to start tanking again wanted to download some of the tankspot videos so I could watch them on my tablet while I commute. Any recommendations?
Take your pick: Software - http://youtubedownload.altervista.org/ Software - http://imelfin.com/youtube-downloader.html Online - http://keepvid.com
If she uses Firefox, she can use the extension: Video DownlaodHelper https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/video-downloadhelper/ That is what I use. works well, allows you to download as mp4 in different quality YouTube video, and other site videos too.
I don't know what browser you use, but from a Firefox perspective: The most elegant and easy solution I've found is using a Userscript for Greasemonkey. It simply gives you a button on every Youtube video with direct download links for various qualities: The script I currently use is YouTube Center for that and other excellent tweaks for Youtube, but prior to that I used Youtube Video Download which just gives you the button. My alternative solution for Youtube and embedded video on other sites is the Firefox extension Video DownloadHelper. It's maybe a touch bloated (I wouldn't necessarily recommend having it active all the time), but it seems to be able to extract basic flash video from pretty much anywhere (baring properly protected ones, like 4OD and iPlayer). And for when you absolutely need ( ) to download 4K video from Youtube there's 4K Video Downloader. I think 2.6 still works and was the last free-without limitations version if you can get hold of it. It's also nice for batch downloading whole playlists. I'm maybe a little bit obsessive about tweaking and downloading Youtube
I use Youtube centre personally as it allows me to stop youtube vids streaming in chucks and just downloads the whole thing instead loads of other features to this but I CBA explaining them lol it makes youtube better that's the end result.
For Chrome, Ultimate Youtube Downloader extension is great. For android, Youtube Downloader (not a marketplace app)
I have a fantastic one that that you can download, can't remember the name right now, but will link it when I get home. Edit: DVDVideoSoft Free Studio
