What is the best way of transferring your saved games from one computer to another? I have all my games beat but all on different computers and I don't want to play all the way through all my games on each computer I play on.

What I want to do is copy my saves in HL2, EP1, GMod, and all the others to my laptop so I don't have to run through it all again, its not that I don't want to :D but I don't have the time.

So what files need to be moved and where, I tried doing it before but unsuccessfully.

Copy the files in the following dir, or something equivalent:
    C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\EMAILADDRESS\portal\portal\SAVE
    C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\EMAILADDRESS\half-life 2 episode one\episodic\SAVE
    etc

Or replace the name of the game with any other game. the saves are always located somewhere in a folder called SAVE.
