    Hello :)

First time I've posted a project log on here . It's not on the scale of some of the build here but it's only my second scratch build ;)

I'd already started it so the first post is the work I've done so far .

It's based on the ASUS AT3IONT-I Deluxe .

Sides and base of the case internals cut out . Holes for fitting standoffs , hdd and fan all done .

Polished all the edges and joining the first side to the base .

    And the second one .

Internals of the case made :)

Rather difficult to photograph ...... but you get them idea .

    Working on the cover .

Cover cut out with grooves routed so that it can be bent .

Cover bent an a trial fit .

Ventilation holes next and fixing screws next :)

    Great looking start bugeye :).

Bindi, how come your avatar is sometimes fast & giddy & sometimes slow :D kinda like it's pumped & enthusiastic or bored :hehe: always makes me smile when it goes fast :D.

Back panel all marked out .

Routing guides double sided in place .

    Routed :)

    All fits

As this htpc is going to be used with a crt tv for a while some sort of analogue out is needed .
So graphics card is next .... an unknown ATI card with s video out ;)

    Trial fit .

    Fitted .

Next on the list .... support for the graphics card , I don't think the bits of mdf ballanced on the RAM will work as a long term solution :)

I agree! Maybe a thick piece of acryllic would be in order? :)

This is very nice, very small and very very clean! Love it! :thumb:

This looks like it's turning out quite well! I like it, excellent job :thumb:

Can I ask what you used for router bits to do this work with? I may end up using some acrylic at some point, and already have a router. Since it appears as though whatever you're doing works quite well, I'm curious to find out what in terms of bits, and speeds, etc.

    Absolutely awesome!

What are you going to use it for since the ION wont be enough?

Thanks for the comments everyone :)

I've got a few and the one that gets the most use is a small Festo one .

I just use decent woodworking bits , speed .... depends on the amount of material you are removing , but usually as slow as your router will go . There's a good guid on here somewhere .

It just for streaming movies etc from a server so the ION is up to the job . Only problem is the tv doesn't have a hdmi in so I need a RGB or S video connection ..... so graphics card :)

I had a similar idea to Angel .....

Support for the graphics card , made it adjustable .

    Fitted the switch .

Getting tight in there , just the drive and fan to fit .
