Is it just me or is everyone noticing their PPD average decreasing over the last few days ?

I was consistently getting between 10K and 14K per day, then all of a sudden the PPD nose dive :jawdrop: and that's despite me adding an extra GPU (lowly Quadro NVS 290) ...

    06.20.09 - 5,068
    06.19.09 - 4,756
    06.18.09 - 9,714
    06.17.09 - 9,894
    06.16.09 - 11,801
    06.15.09 - 10,354
    06.14.09 - 10,655
    06.13.09 - 14,853

Only change I made was to convert two PCs to Windows 7 ?

    Bemused of Dorset :sigh:

I Have been folding with a 295 and Windows 7 RC very disappointed with the PPD but you will also find that if you get the dreaded 511 pointers they drag your PPD down no end.

Not sure if mthere are some optimisation issues for the clients in W7RC no Guru

Like the eye candy element of W7RC but the performance is nowhere as good as XP Pro IMHO

Things seem so much easier to set up in XP and its no where near as resource hungry.

Almost certainly the change in OS is the main source of your decreased production; almost everything involved, drivers, clients etc. have not been optimised for Window 7 yet.

Although 511 point projects do score low, I have been getting a good mix of WUs over the past day.

Most peoples PPD will go up and down depending on projects downloaded.

If I get 511 projects on all my GPU's which happens a few times a week then FahMon drops 10k ppd!

What does your daily average ppd as thats the one to go by day to day :)

    511 pointers ...

Hmm okay back to 10,250 yesterday so must have been a couple of days of only getting 511 point WU ...

Just picked up a fully working dual core DELL Precision Workstation (£67) and a 9800GT (£60)for 24/7 folding :thumb: so hopefully 15K PPD soon!

I thought I could have had the team no wrong on one of them but they all seem ok so I am @ loss to whats happening .Is fahmon wrong in the info thats it's showing

As has been Posted under a seperate thread Fahmon basis your PPD on the current work units you are processing it will vary greatly due to the different work units you fold. Dont panic :cooldude:

Stats lag, sometimes by more than 24 hours. You make a change on your machine, which Fahmon will react to quickly, but then the machine has to finish the unit, Stanford servers have to process the completed unit, which takes time because of the queue of returned results, then Stanford Stats only update every 3 hours, and EO stats only update from the Stanford Stats every 3 hours. There are probably other processes going on.
    Don't panic.
